$2.7mil v. $9.5mil I think would have gotten Ara and Knute to take a hike too I assume the $2.7mm figure is from ND's form 990? Or press reports? Interesting to note that Northwestern's fine coach, Pat Fitzgerald was making a bit over $3mm the last time I checked. He just signed a new contract at the end of last season after rumors that he might jump to the Bears. No doubt he got a nice raise. I wonder how the salaries for head coaches at the top private schools--Stanford, NU and ND--rank. Shaw made 8.9 million at Stanford in 2019 www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/pac12/2021/08/04/stanford-football-coach-david-shaw-2019-pay/5488869001/

Nice to be tax exempt. These salaries should threaten that, but they won't. The argument from the charities (non-profits are regulated by the public charities division of the AG in MA) is they have to pay competitive salaries to provide quality services to the public to meet their charitable mission.

Addazio is now part of the answer to a trivia question- which two coaches got ejected in their final game? Who is the other one? The Gerbil? Or is he the answer to the trivia question, which coach got body slammed by Pedro Martinez in his final game?😊

And they hand him a $3 million check on the way out the door. What a country! Who's fault is that?

I had read the $2.7 somewhere, now not sure where...I saw another poster report $5mil, which is more in line with what I would have expected...but whatever it was, I am certain the LSU money is substantially more, and I am also relatively certain that at least presently ND has no plans to make their HC salary (at least in terms of dollars) competitive with these USC and LSU. While we can say $5mil is a #@*&$~! ton of money, the LSU money is basically 2x a #@*&$~! ton of money

Been a lot of talk/ridicule online about Brian Kelly's fake accent here at the LSU basketball game (the Massachusetts native's pronunciation of 'family' is particularly funny):

Joe Moorhead who was making $1 mill as OC at Oregon has been named HC at Akron (bottom feeder in the MAC) - is it possible the Zips matched or exceeded the $1 mil figure ?

Wow---outstanding pandering by the Coach there I guess he's not going to say "wicked pissah" any time soon. A guy at ESPN made this video with the coach saying "family" in his leaked speech to his players and then at LSU

I have a much better accent y'all after living in Virginia for a while. I think he needs to read up on Coach O's bayou Cajun accent a bit more. Wasn't Kelly's father a politician? The apple does not fall far from the tree. Something tells me the LSU fans, many good Catholics down there as well, don't care what he sounds like as long as he wins and wins often.

Funny twist to the coaching carousel may be occurring. Baylor just beat Oklahoma State , which means the Brian Kelly-less Fighting Irish just inched closer to a playoff berth: (this was written prior to the OKlahoma State University loss) So, if Notre Dame wants to feel comfortable about finishing in the top four, it needs two of Michigan, Cincinnati and Oklahoma State to lose. Two of those teams are double-digit favorites. The Irish could possibly get there with one loss among those three and Alabama taking a big loss. All of this is assuming the committee does not dock Notre Dame for not having a head coach at the moment.www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-playoff-bowl-predictions-paths-for-the-eight-contenders-remaining-with-one-spot-clinched/

I have always been rather ambivalent about SEC ball. My cousin went to Florida as did one of my friends from grad school, so I have long been a Gators fan. My best man went to UGA and became a Dawgs fan (admittedly jumped on the bandwagon a bit). A friend from high school went to Ole Miss (the saying is correct, they have never lost a party or a tailgate at the Grove). My missus did a grad program at UT Austin, who will soon be making its way to the SEC. While I do not anticipate Holy Cross winning 4 consecutive PL titles and asking the SEC for entry, it does make me a bit jealous watching "big time" ball. I settle for the CAA or a new Yankee league. Good luck to the Tide in the playoffs.

Odds are very high it’s Chesney or Ryan Carty. I’ll be very surprised if it’s someone else. I bet we know by tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest.

Some Delaware posters talking about Ches interviewing. I feel like the momentum has been all Carty (and as of last week BC wasn't on any posters' radar) and maybe after our impressive showing "this is not a Patriot League football team" they asked him to interview. I think we need to pay the man. Lot of unfinished business here. I think a few more years for BC. www.gohens.net/boards/viewtopic.php?t=27953&start=75
