This is your periodic reminder that UNH football is 13-21 since the start of the 2018 season. Also had a coach with a cancer diagnosis and a pandemic screw everything up. It is crazy that UNH Men's Soccer won five more games this fall than UNH has won in football since 2018.

OK, I'll play the dunce. What's an autonomy school vs. a non-autonomy school? Independent vs. in a conference/league? If so, why didn't you just say that? Autonomy schools are the Power Five Conferences. Everybody else in FBS is non-autonomy. The autonomy schools don't share their football playoff or major bowl revenue with the NCAA. They also can provide athletes with additional money to cover the full cost of attendance; e.g., travel money. Show me proof of any school that was ever forced to pay so much as a cent of it's bowl payout to the NCAA.

Sources of Total Revenues, Division I, 2018-19 Not all sources displayed Autonomy / Non autonomy FBS / FCS / Non football Division I Media rights, Bowls, NCAA/Conference Distributions: 35% / 10% / 5% / 6% Guarantees 1% / 4% / 3% / 1% Student Fees 3% / 18% / 13% / 14% Institutional Subsidy 6% / 38% / 58% / 62% Total revenue 2018-19 $8.2B / $2.8B / $2.8B / $1.9B Institutional subsidy occurs when generated revenues are insufficient to cover total expenses. Expenses at some autonomy schools exceed generated revenues. Sports other than football do not generate enough revenue to cover expenses at schools that are not autonomy schools. In 2018-19, generated revenue was sufficient to cover expenses in 25 FBS schools, I believe all were autonomy schools. No FCS or Division 1 school without football had sufficient generated revenue to cover expenses. For example, $1.2 billion of the $1.9 billion of total revenue of Non-football Division I schools is an institutional subsidy.

It is terrible when a team's success is affected by a coach's cancer. Tough break for the team.

It is crazy that UNH Men's Soccer won five more games this fall than UNH has won in football since 2018. While I enjoy picking on Mr. Foley about the current state of the UNH program, I thought this was a good article about their longtime DC who is retiring. Seems like a great guy. Scott James’ wife tweeted about how kind he always was to her. The article also starts with a Casey DeAndrade reference. unhwildcats.com/news/2021/12/22/football-insider-report-he-killed-it.aspx
