Lehigh 38, Mississippi State 29 at the half. LU likely was the favorite in this one, with MS State's All-SEC wing out for the season. I expect they will hold onto this lead. Other PL game: Bucknell 72, Northern Colorado 60. Final.

I took it as a reference to the scene in Goodfellas where one "made man" from a rival crew puts down the Joe Pesci character by asking where his shine box is since, apparently, the Pesci character shined shoes in his youth.... you can find the scene on YouTube if you Google "Goodfellas shine box". Great movie Thanks.............Had seen that movie in the distant past but didn't remember that "shine box" scene in the bar.......bruuuuutal.

Very impressive win by Lehigh over Mississippi State 6 players in double figures, even Dr Reed may have a hard time screwing this season up.

Army may be better than we think. They're leading Fairfield by one at the half.
Navy up by eight early in the second against Penn.
Colgate trailing Columbia by eight; they were down by 16 at the half.
American trailing St. Francis PA by 12 -- most disappointing PL team thus far? Not like much was expected of them though.
Loyola blowout at the hands of Creighton happens later.

Penn goes scoreless in the last 5:21 as Navy ends the game on a 9-0 run to get the win.
Colgate forces overtime at the Bargain Basement.
American loses to St. Francis PA.
Army loses at the buzzer on a tip in by Fairfield.

Mike Brennan remains committed to starting AU's two top freshmen, PF Mark Gasperini and PG Sa'eed Nelson - and they are producing. Today, the pair combined for 40 points, 13 boards, 6 assists, 4 steals and just 3 TOs - Nelson played 40 minutes, Gasperini 35.

2nd straight game where Gasperini and Nelson scored close to twenty points each, I guess some freshman can pick-up the PO.

And considering American lost to always-tough St. Francis PA, maybe Brennan should have went with upperclassmen. But I guess for some it's all about stats, not the W-L columns.

The upperclassmen combined for about 20 points so yeah it's the freshmen's fault they lost.

They LOST. That's only stat that matters.

They LOST. That's only stat that matters. If they benched the two freshmen they would lose by a lot more. Their two upper classes have a scarcity of players and not a lot of talent.

Re: American University--- Delante Jones has really struggled this year, if his stats are the proper indicator--16-39 on two's is not bad but he's a so-co 7-22 on threes and 5-14 on free throws. He's committed 18 fouls (fouled out of two games) and 17 turnovers in first 5 games. KenPom gives him an abysmal "o-rating" of 75.7 to date

True Rob; it's just that Mike Brennan seems to have our number. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think our seniors have ever beaten AU. At any rate, I'm sure at least a few teams will be really ready for us this year!
