In each of Coach Brennan's first three seasons at AU we've played our best basketball at the end of the season, and while it's frustrating now, I have no doubt that that trend will continue in March. We have a terrific young point guard in Sa'eed and a very strong center in Gasperini--as y'all know well, since you recruited both of them. Taking our lumps now but it will pay off by the end of this year and especially in '17 and '18.

What in God'S name is the Holy City Hoops Classic that Colgate is playing in versus Union tonight? The Union game is a Colgate home game in Cotterell - not part of any tournament.

AU gets its first win, 57-50, over Western Illinois of the Summit* League. Delante Jones breaks out of a slump with 19 points, and Sa'eed Nelson--who won PL Rookie of the Week honors earlier in the day--added 12 points, 4 rebounds and 5 steals. Rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit and scored 40 in the second half. Progress!
*fixed, thank you.

Bucknell with the best win of the night over Richmond. . curious... doesn't Richmond run a PO style offense... if so does Bucknell scheduling Richmond suggest a reaction to American & HC?

Bucknell with the best win of the night over Richmond. . curious... doesn't Richmond run a PO style offense... if so does Bucknell scheduling Richmond suggest a reaction to American & HC? Yes, they do. And I don't think getting Richmond on their schedule has anything to do at all with HC and AU. They were able to get a usually solid A10 team into their building, so that's reason enough.

At this point, it seems as though Bucknell is the league favorite.
As we move into December, how would people rank the league now?

I would go with the following rankings:
1. Bucknell 2. Lehigh 3. Holy Cross 4. BU 5. Loyola 6. Navy 7. Army 8. American 9. Colgate 10. Lafayette

I see no reason to bump Lehigh from the top just yet. Yes, they are 2-4, but they have played, according to kenpom, the 22nd toughest schedule in the country to date. My top three as of this morning would be:
Lehigh Bucknell Holy Cross/Boston University, pick 'em

Bucknell is our flagship. Might win a game in tourney if a 13 seed.
