Strange that this non HC player was the only one you mentioned Foley just copied the PL tweet announcing the release. What was he supposed to do?

Dobbs not being the pre-season PL Defensive POY is a joke.
Compare and contrast: Dobbs named 2022 pre-season All-America by multiple publications, etc. Hamm - No All-America mentions as far as I can tell Dobbs last year - 137 tackles, including 75 solo tackles and 17.5 tackles for loss. Hamm - SECOND ON THE TEAM (!!) in tackles (64) and tackles for loss (7.5) Dobbs last year - ranked in the top 10 in FCS last season in solo tackles and total tackles
I hope this snub creates a huge chip on Jacob's shoulder, and I hope Malik Hamm has ESPN+ so he can watch Dobbs and his teammates in the FCS post-season.

Hamm is a fine PL DE. However, he does not pop on screen like Dobbs. Dobbs could legitimately play just about anywhere in the country (maybe not at the same level he does in the PL). Hamm could not.

Fordham received two first place votes and Colgate 1. I’m guessing that a team’s voters (coach and SID?) cannot vote for their own team. So one of the voters on the other six teams picked Fordham or Colgate to finish ahead of the Crusaders

I was with a guy over the weekend who is close friends with a scout for the Arizona Cardinals. I had him text the scout and ask about Dobbs. The response was that the NFL scouting community is very much aware of young Jacob..

I think the guy from Fordham (Greenhagen) is also better than Hamm.

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that those in PA don't want HC to dominate every facet of the pre-season accolades.

Liam Anderson is going to get as many or perhaps more NFL looks with another big season as anyone at HC has in a while. You heard it hear first.

I hate preseason poll/all-stahh teams in theory...really no good can come from them. That being said, I think the good people in NE Pennsylvania are trying to give their schools a little boost. Dobbs is clearly the best overall defensive player in the league...it is what it is with these selections.
We are definitely going to have a bullseye on us from every school in the league this year after going back to back to back and receiving so many preseason accolades. A good problem to have and I trust Chez, the other coaches and the players to handle this accordingly.

I'm glad DeMorat is staying at Fordham for his fifth year. Not exactly Broadway Joe Namath, but good for the league to have a quality QB in NYC.
Unlikely, but it would raise the profile of the league in FCS if two teams made the playoffs this year.

Although I have never been a fan of preseason polls, they can be useful. Is the selection of DeMorat bulletin board material? Mightn't he have a target on his back? Obviously, all the PL teams are going to be especially up for their games against HC, poll or no poll.

We have the same issue
Sluka wins Pesansky like DeMorat would win the stats and when his number gets called, even for one season, will win - I think he has tremendous upside for us after Sluka departs
the kid from Chicago might offer it as well

Pesansky has three seasons left. Of course a zillion things can occur at the QB position over time and I'm satisfied we've got proven winners at the helm (Coach and QB) right now.

I think Sluka is more than just an athletic guy who’s a great runner . Ask Sacred Heart about his timely passing in the clutch. Here are the efficiency ratings for QB’s in PL play
1–147— DeMorat Fordham 2- 129–Sluka HC 3- 121–Brunell Gtown 4- 120- Davis Lafayette 5- 114-Perri- Lehigh 6- 88-Semptimphelter Bucknell
In my opinion he is not another Joe Kapp or Bobby Douglas

Two PL defenders (Dobbs and Greenhagen) on the Stats Perform Preseason All-America FIRST TEAM, but Hamm, who made neither the first, the second, nor the third team, is picked as the PL Preseason Defensive POY. Looks like some ballot manipulation in Pennsylvania. We might need Congress to form a July 26th Committee.

Hamm may have won the PL pre-season pick because of split ballots on who was the best linebacker. (Assuming voters are asked to rank choices 1, 2, 3, 4.) Hamm is unlikely to be post-season Player-of-the-Year because Lafayette will do poorly in the W-L column.
