I really hope you guys are all correct and we don't see a combination HC let down and the ball bouncing crazy ways. This could be the classic trap game. I knew someone would have to trot that out. Don't overthink this one: HC has a much better team and is extremely well-coached. Holy Cross will dominate the game and win easily I’d actually like to see us get safely ahead and give the second and third team player time for most of the 4th Q. They’ve earned it and good play by them would boost everyone’s confidence for later in the season

Should be a dominant victory both weeks.

So, KY, who is going to win by a larger margin, Holy Cross over Bucknell or Fordham over Lehigh? Both will be routs, right?

The gap between HC and Bucknell is much greater than the one between Fordham and Lehigh
I predicted HC by 23 and Fordham by 12. HC should have in the second team much of the second half while Fordham will have to keep the pressure on all game knowing its defense is so weak

It will be a 3-0 Holy Cross sweep this fall.

I could see a Colgate type game tomorrow, where the Bucknell D keeps it close for a while. FWIW, they were only down 7-0 at the half to Central Michigan, and the final was 41-0. I just can't see them generating enough offense to make a serious upset bid.

HC should have in the second team much of the second half while Fordham will have to keep the pressure on all game knowing its defense is so weak Last year we were up 31-0 at half time, took it down several notches and still beat Bucknell by 39 (45-6) at their place. Bucknell had under 100 yards of total offense. We kept it conservative and rushed for 328 (!) yards while they rushed for -1 yards. We’re better than we were last year. (There are several things Bucknell and Holy Cross can do to limit the margin of victory at Polar Park this year and we certainly took our foot off the accelerator VERY early to help them out last year and kept it under 40).

So, KY, who is going to win by a larger margin, Holy Cross over Bucknell or Fordham over Lehigh? Both will be routs, right? Lehigh almost beat Fordham last year. And had they not missed I think 3 field goals, they would've won. Probably looking at a 52-35 type game if I had to guess.

This year's Fordham team is healthy with all its key players on the field. Their O-line is intact, protects the QB and opens holes for the RBs. They have one of the finest receivers in FCS in play. Running game is strong. And, the QB is a fifth year senior. All comparisons to last year's FU squad should be off the table. Last year's scores carry little weight. And, HC has a different, stronger team, too. Sluka's improved passing is one example. The game will not be won or lost in the polls, or in the write-ups or other comments. Have to see the matchups on the field. The Lehigh game might prove to be a bellwether.

Their offense can't play defense though. I agree that Fordham's offense is indeed significantly even better than last year (like ours). Probably the best offense I've seen in 17 years of following the Patriot League.

No Jacob Dobbs in the two-deep.
Hopefully, the thinking is that a full three weeks off will serve him well. Ease back in vs. Laffy, and then back to All-America normal for the Rams.

Admittedly, FU's "D" has been terrible. However, can HC win in a high scoring game, a shootout. As noted earlier I am concerned about the matchup of FU's passing against HC's pass "D."My instinct says a shootout favors the Rams. --My hope is that with an effective ground game, HC can eat some clock and reduce the time available for the FU offense to move the ball. --Turnovers - INTs, fumbles, backed punts - are always crucial but might be more so in this game. --Would icy/rainy weather be of a greater help to FU or HC? The usual thinking is a wet/icy fields is a greater help to the pass receiver because he knows where he is going & the defender has to react. However, this advantage might not give an overall advantage to either squad in this game or in fact might help HC. --Or, pray for an extremely windy day. "Hurricane Mamie"

"Hurricane Mamie" Okay, once again: Holy Cross crushed DeMorat and Fordham last year in The Bronx. Many believe that our team has improved over last year. In fact, we have already defeated two teams on the road that beat us at Fitton Field last season. Fordham has one of the worst defenses in all of Division-1. We should not concede the victory to Fordham. Holy Cross will be a strong favorite for this game on our home field. s

I was merely musing about the game. Peace.
