The casual football fan nationwide knows next to nothing about FCS football. The casual football fan in the northeast knows next to nothing about the CAA, the PL, the Pioneer League, the Northeast Conference, etc. IL f-ball was mocked as button down, as in shirt. The posters on this board are definitely ahead of the curve. FWIW, I marvel at the knowledge & insights of the posters. Sometimes it seems like a brawling bar fight, which is OK.

Which will be the "great event" the game or the formal announcement?

Which will be the "great event" the game or the formal announcement? For once HC has a chance to win both the press conference and the game.🙂

I don't really care where we play our football games as long as we win 'em all. Does anyone know if the Polar Park game plays any role in recruiting at all? I am sure that the atmosphere will be pretty amazing for this game, but based on the amount of Harvard fans at their own stadium last year, I'm not sure many other than parents will show up. It is too bad we couldn't schedule Merrimack as others have suggested, later in the season, to open up the possibility of Polar Park. To the casual college football fan, Merrimack might not seem that exciting, but they are building a good program and certainly their last trip to Worcester caught a lot of HC folks off guard a bit. All I know is, the Lehigh game last year was a sign to me that football is back in Worcester. We knew Fordham was going to be the closest thing to a sellout we have seen in a long time, but to still get over 10k for the Lehigh game as well was impressive to me.
Kudos to Kit for his work on his end as well to get our brand out there.

Kit was the featured speaker at the third Worcester Sports Management Summit held yesterday at Worcester State University. Several hundred people looking to get into the field attended and 32 teams had representatives present.

I haven't been to a PP game yet, mainly because it's not that convenient for me and I much prefer Fitton anyway. But this season I hope to attend, except for the Bucknell trip, every game that Sluka & Co are playing, home & away. It turns out the schedule travel-wise should be quite manageable with BC being the longest trip

Maybe because I had low expectations.

Only way BC is ever coming to Fitton is if we win the FCS national title and even then, likely a 2 for 1 or even 3 for 1 favoring Alumni Stadium. Simple "power dynamics." You don't see any FBS program traveling to the Fargo Dome, do you? I must echo the sentiment that a larger capacity such as at BC, Uconn or Army is a win for HC as well.

What's the early prediction for how many Holy Cross fans make the short trip for the BC game? What % of the stadium is filled with purple and white? I must say, I'm quite excited for this game and we're still 7 months out.

It will be one of the better opportunities for an FCS takedown of a P-5 team.

Living on the Outer Cape, it's the shortest drive for me, so I'll be there with my son and grandson who live in JP. And probably my LI cousin, BC '66.

I know a number of the boys on the team have that game marked on their calendars (not looking past Merrimack). My guess on attendance (35-40,000). Lots of local interest especially with the #6 FCs HC coming to Boston to play the “big boys” from the ACC. I’m personally excited about this one. I’d love it to be a night game. Really increase the attendance.
