Is it only that these coaches "get" Holy Cross? Isn't it also and possibly more important for success in the age of the transfer portal that they "get" the young men they are coaching? Do Chesney's players stay Primarily because of HC or because of a tie to their coach. Chesney recruited top flight student athletes. Hired a staff of assistants who buy into his style of leadership & know how to teach. And Chesney himself inspires & leads in an extremely positive way. At this point we can only hope Coach Paulsen lives out his promise of being a great coach, too. Peace. Addendum. Obviously, "getting HC" & "getting" the student-athlete vibe are not mutually exclusive. I think they stay because of the character of their coaches and how they trust and believe them when they are told Holy Cross is special Paulsen will be viewed in the same light

He was ineffective in the first two games. So was most of the lineup, though...

Hope he comes back healthy and starts getting minutes. I was afraid he was bolting after a bad start to his season.

For the few of you who still care, Luc is back in the lineup. Unfortunately for him, Mika Adams-Woods, a transfer from Cincinnati and Bona's starting PG, has gone 19-20 from the field (9-9 from 3) with 7 assists and 2 turnovers in the last two games. Admittedly, these were terrible teams, but I can't see Kyrell getting significant minutes absent an injury to Mika.

Kyrell has not played in their semis game which is almost over. Bonnies about to lose. He played 2 min in a 2OT win in the quarters.

If he's wearing a brown uni next year, it will be at one of the other handful of schools that wear that color.

His coach preseason said that he would not get much playing time unless his outside shooting and defense improved.
I guess it didn't.
Bet he transfers to a lower rated conference. Imagine if he came home to Boston and played for BU? Ugh.

It's possible DP wouldn't offer him a scholarship and possible he would. HC won ten games with him and ten games without him. I hope he finds a team he can contribute to and a coach who can utilize him.

Hope the young man gets a good education and graduates with a college degree. One of the lessons of life is to view ourselves as others view us not only as we view ourselves.Yes believe in ourselves but do so in a way that doesn't hamper us. Maybe it's his time to face his reality. It is a great opportunity for personal growth outside the world of basketball. Hope he takes advantage of the opportunities off the court that are available with a college degree.

Definitely don’t think there’s any room at the inn for Luc. I think DP feels pretty good about Boston running the show for the next 4 years and we have plenty of guards. Need some 6’6”+ players with the remaining scholarships.

He was a quick, athletic point that never was a good perimeter shooter that could get a step off the drive. And as his competition improved first to HC over HS, then at Bonnies, his effectiveness decreased.

With truth serum, you wonder how our transfers would say their decision to leave HC has worked out.

At the moment, Bona only has one guard returning next year, a freshman who redshirted this year, so Luc's minutes presumably would have risen next year. I'm assuming that either Schmidt told him that he was looking to recruit over him or that Luc just wanted to move on. Or both.

Simon Wilbar has played at two D1 schools (HC, Indiana State), a D2 (Lincoln Memorial), and a D3 (Maryville).
