Doing drills now, I'll try and get the final measurements once they're available.

Kevin Stone has been at practice today and has been tweeting out some videos of practice.
He also noted we have over 125 recruits there today.

You can pick up a lot by watching those videos. Ayir and Liam Andy also there. Ayir had some great live videos of WR v DB 1 v 1s on goal line.

Think it has been noted before — but the coverage of football in New England at all levels by the New England Football Journal is just outstanding. They know well what is going on generally and on Mount Saint James specifically. Appreciate their excellent content and know HC will give them plenty to highlight this upcoming season.

Quite a contrast in the New England Football Journal regarding the outdoor conditions at URI vs HC practicing in the IPF.
Outstanding interviews with Dobbs, Sluka and Haskins, and of course Coach Chesney.

Updates on personnel based on the NEFJ and other videos from yesterday:
Dobbs - full pads and going thru all drills except full contact
McMurtrie - suited up but only doing some Indy drills and conditioning Ross - same
Molton - not participating / still recovering Petersen - same Duchemin - same
Only injury so far in Spring appears to be OT Cam McNair who was in an arm sling.
I did not see WR Dom Thomas in WR 1 v 1s so he might still be limited. Others that missed all of ‘22 due to injury and appear fully recovered are Safeties Raiger & Cox and DE Allard. Of those 3 Raiger looks most likely to compete for time on STs and the 2-deep.

DE is critical and he and BV can be a good duo. Hearing Dom Thomas may have hurt his knee again just hoping that is not the case.

I just got a call from Jalen Coker to thank me for my donation to HC FB. Very nice young man. I thanked him for his catch against Sacred Heart and all his other big catches. I mentioned how if Holy Cross ever has a chance to beat BC, this will be the year. He said "We'll be there" with determination.
Very positive initiative. The size of my contribution only warranted a text from a water boy, but it was nice to get a call from a player I recognize.

Spoke to an impressive track team member yesterday. This is a nice touch by KH and his coaches. My football gift was modest as well. I think I obligated myself to make a gift based upon some charitable gambling scheme our bookie from the Bluegrass State was running.

I got a call from Declan McCauley. A brief but pleasant conversation.

We talked about BC and Army -- our son was on the team that last beat Army. As circumstances permit we increase our modest donation every year and a call from a player reinforces that. It's a nice touch that they're not just focusing on the big donors.

I was sitting in my study and had been on a call. My wife leaves me a note--"You received a nice voicemail." So I followed the instructions to access it, and it was from Matt Sluka who thanked me for my (modest) donation to the CAF. It's a pity I didn't get a chance to speak with him live, but this really made my day. Go Cross!

Nothing major on the position change front but did notice a couple:
SR Will Ezema - 3 year RB now playing CB SO John Ownes - switched from DE to TE frosh year. Now back at DE. SO George Bousum - Frosh TE now DE.
Looks like SR Bryan Pacific is taking the spring snaps at reserve center since All Purpose OL Declan Mac is playing RT with both McMurtrie and McNair out.

Interesting. This means there are 4 healthy RBs competing this spring: Fuller, Purdy, Rivers and Slade. I believe Forrest is out with an injury.

4 deep at a position is actually really good for spring ball. There are positions like OL and LB where we are literally 2 deep with one back up right now.

Dobbs is the only one limited. He’s doing everything except inside run and team. But that only leaves Bolden and Monte working with the 1’s during scrimmage type contact / competition with Kane and Boyer as the 2’s.
Drew Spin, Santee and Dansdill can’t arrive soon enough. We need depth!
