Good article- a lot going on there. Meanwhile, the Dallas kicker, a former pro soccer player who never kicked in high school nor college; is 35-35 on field goals for the season. 44-47 on extra points (each of which is a 35 yard fg attempt these days), so he's a tad human at least.

That was arguably the worst call on a game deciding play ever. Holy cow. Dallas receives this gift, and then gets elevated to the #2 seed when Arizona beats Philly.....something doesn't smell right.....

No conspiracy, just bad officiating. Or, as someone who has a huge hearing loss, maybe an "act of God" (i.e. the ref just didn't hear the player(s) correctly)?

Kalif with two 40+ yard plays today. Punt return to midfield and reception inside the five.

Will this reception finally be the play that gives Kalif this kind of opportunity in the near future ?

Kalif just got injured on a running play, limping. Was a screen pass but walked off very slowly after being down on the field for a bit. Hope he’s okay. 50 rec yards and 89 return yards today.

4 punt returns for 89 yards is world class Too bad there isn't an AI program to plug Sluka into the same returns to see how they would play out, according to the computer of course. I see Matt as NFL ready as a runner in space.

No real update on Kalif in the post-game. Campbell said LaPorta’s injury not as bad as it looked but also suggested he wouldn’t be ready for a game soon. Said Kalif is in the same boat. Hopefully that means it’s not as bad as it looked and not that he can’t play next week.

I wasn't able to watch the game. Did the Lions win? Where do they stand for the playoffs?

I wasn't able to watch the game. Did the Lions win? Where do they stand for the playoffs? I think they are now either the 2nd or 3rd seed in the NFC playoffs....home game next weekend

I wasn't able to watch the game. Did the Lions win? Where do they stand for the playoffs? Lions won 30-20. As #3 seed will play the Rams at Ford Field next Sunday (1/14) at 8 pm EST on NBC/Peacock. Kalif’s big day returning punts boosted his punt return avg. to 11.4 yds./return, an average that places him 3rd in the NFC and 5th in the NFL. With regard to injury, Dan Campbell said that “Neither [knee] injury (for Kalif and LaPorta) was good but also not as severe as they initially appeared.” More info later this week to follow. Hopefully both will be able to play vs. Rams. If not, they’ll be sorely missed.

The Lions haven't won a playoff game in 32 years. Hope Kalif can help deliver one.

What's the logic of putting a game featuring the nation's top (or second) tv market and putting it where many, many folks are going to skip the aggravation of finding it?

Really hope they can play and aid Detroit to victory. What cruel punishment would it be for Lions fans if they lose to Stafford, who attained hero status in Motor City.

What's the logic of putting a game featuring the nation's top (or second) tv market and putting it where many, many folks are going to skip the aggravation of finding it? I presume you are talking about the Peacock game, which seems to be KC-Mia, not LAR-Det as its placement in this thread and the allusion to the top tv market suggest. In any event nbc/peacock bought the rights, so they get the game. Real fans of either team will find it, so nobody is missing out...and indeed in the local TV markets it is provided on NBC
