While they have openings, they are not filling a roster. I would not expect anybody that commits to be at a level or style that doesn't fit or improve the future roster

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Beacon, N.Y., native scored 44 points and grabbed seven rebounds in four games played this past season, per highschool.nj.com.

May be an incomplete set of data on him...found tweets promoting him stating he averaged 12 pts and 3 apg this year...the site you referenced credited him with 44 points (11ppg) and 6 assists (1.5 apg). Younger brother of a guy that seemed to have a solid career for Quinnipiac

He did play more than four games. The New Jersey High School Sports website lists 4 games and others have picked up on this. But there’s also an article in the school newspaper citing him as one of the stars in a game versus The Hill, not one of the four games on the other site

To make everyone feel better, he was apparently a very strong player at Trinity Pawling in the NEPSAC prior to this season. Found this blurb written in advance of a showcase he participated in last year with his Trinity-Pawling team. The PSA cardinals play in the top AAU circuit so he’s played with and against some serious players.
DeAndre Williams (2023) 6’3 guard Trinity-Pawling School (NY) - Holds an offer from Robert Morris. All NEPSAC Class A selection. Williams is the T-P team captain and has the ability to make plays for himself. Scores the ball at all three levels. Averaged 16.3 ppg, 4.6 rbs 4.5 ast and 2.6 stls On the defensive end, Williams had multiple games with 5 or more steals and he is a true two way player. Plays AAU with EYBL PSA Cardinals. 3.5 gpa Video highlights RTB profile

PSA Cardinals are always among the best grass roots teams in the US. Some impressive plays here. Step back three was contested, but made. Good vision on passes. Some effective finishes at the rim I trust Coach P Thanks for the video, 92

6’3” guard from St Benedict’s in Newark - class of ‘23 One more to go if we’re going to have 13 scholarship players for 23-24 is he scholarship or preferred walk on? Didn't you ask the same question when unheralded Torey Thomas signed in the spring of 2003? Just kidding, although I can understand why you would ask. Now we know how message boards can be, but one Siena fan claimed to be familiar with DW, and raved about him. Here is a quote (sienafan1480, responding to a fellow poster's question about whether he liked him): "Yes his brother was Tyrese Williams who played at Quinny. Deandre is a better all around player. 6’2 college ready body, who can shoot it, and is a dog defensively. If you find film of St. Benedict’s this year, he is every bit the key to St. Benedict’s as Brayln Smith was. Iona is on him hard as well. But this is definitely the kind of kid MAAC teams should be all over right now. High school kid who at one point is being recruited by VCU, and that level of team. But offers dry up because of COVID" Welcome to HC De'Andre!

Looks like Singleton was on that team as well. Good catch. Forgot that Singleton spent a year at Loomis and was only looking for Nugent on that list. Singleton transferred to Loomis from Fort Vancouver HS in Washington after his Junior year in 2020-21 and reclassified at that point. After one year at Loomis, he transferred to Scotland Campus. So all three of our new guys likely played against each other at least once in high school in their junior years in the NEPSAC.

Seems like slimcharles entered the portal and now we have Cheese. Clearly, John Mulaney didn’t walk through that door, either.

As I’ve said in the past, I don’t even try to follow “verbals,” but we are not near NLI yet, right?
That said I have a lot more confidence in DP’s ability to recruit AND teach and coach up his recruits than his predecessor.

I have zero understanding of how a teenager thinks regarding social media Would a kid tweet out "committed" and also thank God if he was a preferred walk on? I suppose it would mean the kid has also given up hope on getting a scholarship. I'm thinking this is a scholarship

So am I correct in concluding that Deandre was in prep school but then transferred to St Benedict’s for his final high school season?
I see that Will Batchelder was on the All NEPSAC Class B team

I see that Will Batchelder was on the All NEPSAC Class B team I think a lot of the "prep schools" cover grades 7-12 or 9-12 in addition to offering a prep year. I don't know how many true "prep schools" are out there. I think there are some that exist primarily for basketball development.
