What a fantastic job by Coach Guns&staff! Really thought we were in trouble with this class when Ray-Bans went South. Already looking forward to the Spring Game and seeing these future Saders in action. So we have gone from “Coach Ray Bans” to “Coach Guns”! You have a great knack for coming up with nicknames

I am pretty sure they'd have to have been enrolled already to be able to play in the spring game, so none of the '24s will be playing. (Someone definitely correct me if I'm wrong here) A transfer would be playing if he was already taking classes, but I haven't heard there are any of those; or any other kind of transfer.. Lafayette's spring roster list 3 freshmen; in their bio's they entered this spring; 1 is a transfer from AppState with 4 yrs eligibility.

www.on3.com/db/rankings/team-breakdown/football/2024/While I’m not a big fan of rankings for FCS recruiting as it’s way more art than science IMO, it’s worth nothing that On3 has ranked HC #5 in FCS after yesterday. Top 5 were NDSU, Idaho, Eastern Washington, Northern Iowa and HC. Also noteworthy was Monmouth at #9 (Watson), and Colgate two spots ahead of Villanova. That sounds a bit aggressive to me, but does confirm DHarry’s and my opinion that Colgate was putting together a very good class.

I don't think those are fully done yet since they don't have Coleman and he's a 3* on On3. I'd expect us to hold our top 5 spot though.

Is the PL on the upswing? All indications are the PL is getting more competitive with higher level players. Obviously ,the answer will be provided on the field.

In my opinion, the most important factor at play here is the consistency of bringing in and developing talent at this level each and every year. Our resident recruiting experts know far better than me the specifics on this topic. We saw a LOT of young talent on the field for the Crusaders last year and would certainly seem the program has backed up the Class of 2023 recruits/Crusaders with an equally if not even stronger Class of 2024.
Expectations in college football as in any business are hugely important. Each individual is expected to perform. Each individual is expected to meet the standards and uphold the culture. These principles are the building blocks and foundation that differentiate a business from a franchise with an established brand.
This all bodes very very well for our HCFB Crusaders for a protracted period and hopefully longer than that. All of which goes to bringing glory and honor to Alma Mater on and off the field.
Great days to be a Crusader.
LET'S WIN!!

Ahead of the Montanas and SDSU? I'll take it. Curious to see what a couple 2* and 3* prospects do. About 5 or 6 years ago we didn't sniff the top 10 of FCS recruiting rankings but the Anderson, Kuz, Reich group turned out pretty well!

JMU- 116 Not impressive for FBS Also JMU listed as NIL only $2000 more than HC
This also lists Hohenshelt as a hard HC commit Didn’t he decommit ? Is QB Carson Rauner a commit ?

Our rankings will drop a little whenever Rauner and Hohenshelt are removed. Rauner was a 2* on 247 and both had profiles, but those should be easily offset by some of yesterday's commits.
Coleman will be the big add in terms of movement. I haven't gone through to see if the other commits are in the databases but I expect at least a few are.

Is QB Carson Rauner a commit ? It has been posted previously -- I think on the 2024 recruiting thread -- that Rauner suffered a significant injury and has reclassified to the Class of 2025. I do not know whether he still wants to commit to HC or if he will reopen his recruitment for the 2025 class.

I've been on record for a couple years now, the 2018 class at Holy Cross was the greatest collection of partial scholi and PWO kids in all of FCS this generation (~30 years). Player Development / belief in one's upside potential and player retention for 4-5 years through culture....there is no substitute!!

One of the unheralded aspects of Archbishop Spalding’s championship football season was the offensive line that protected star quarterback Malik Washington and provided gaping holes for the running game.
One of the key linemen for the Cavaliers was 270-pound left offensive tackle Liam Lynch. He was an integral part of Spalding’s outstanding three-year record of 31-4.
“Liam worked his tail off for those years,” said Spalding’s head football coach, Kyle Schmitt. “He’s tough, smart, and I knew he could be a college football player when he battled bigger linemen from New Jersey’s Dom Bosco Prep, Concordia and Philadelphia’s Imhotep Charter during our first three games this year.”
Lynch started playing football with the Green Hornets when he was in fifth grade. He went on to play travel football with the Blue Devils out of the Old Mill district. That team had great success and eventually lost in the 13-year-old Snoop Dogg national championship game in Las Vegas.
Lynch went on to enroll at Spalding and overcame a heartbreaking loss during his freshman year as his father died from a heart attack. The teen dedicated his schoolwork and workouts to make himself a better student and football player.
“My freshman year, we were still in COVID, so you had more time to dedicate to schoolwork,” he said.
Lynch achieved outstanding success in the classroom and his grade point average (GPA) skyrocketed to a 4.6 during his four years with a 4.3 GPA in International Baccalaureate classes.
As Spalding’s recognition as a regional football power increased, so did the number of college recruiters who came to the New Cut Road campus.
“We would have offseason morning workouts and there would be as many as a dozen college coaches watching our drills,” Lynch said. “It was great to get that attention from colleges and then set up information sessions and visits.”
Lynch had numerous colleges recruiting him, including Army and Navy, and went on several campus visits after the season.
“I selected Holy Cross because of their academics, and it’s where I felt most welcomed,” he said. “Coach Schmitt always says go where you are loved and make sure you get a degree.”
Massachusetts’ College of the Holy Cross has made Spalding a frequent stop in its recruiting trips to the area. The college has also signed wide receiver R.J. Newton from this year’s team as well as six other players from Maryland.
Currently, Lynch is preparing to play at the next level by continuing to work out at Spalding and doing drill work with Archbishop Spalding offensive line coach Howard Duncan, who played at Oklahoma. Lynch is also trying to add weight and go into college around 285 pounds.
Lynch has fond memories of his high school playing days, including team meals before the games, bus rides after victories and winning back-to-back conference championships, especially the first one played at the Naval Academy’s football field.
He said he won’t miss “running 20 100-yard sprints during summer workouts.”
Lynch will be an engineering major at Holy Cross.
