Class of 2024 offensive lineman prospect Jake Hohenshelt announced his college choice via X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday night. Hohenshlet, a 6-foot-4, 270-pound offensive lineman out of State College High School (PA), revealed that he will be playing his collegiate football at Holy Cross.
Hohenshelt posted a note along with his Tweet:
"I first want to thank my family for all they have done. Without their guidance and commitment to me, I would not be in the position I am today. Next, I want to thank all my coaches that i've had over the past three years for giving me their time and effort into developing me. I want to give a special shout-out to Coach Lintal, Coach Kaluza, Coach Free, and Coach Reeder for not only being there for my entire journey but for making me the man I am today.
I also want to thank Brad Pantall and Rob Oshinskie for their dedication to me in the weight room. I finally wantt to thank all the coaches that have reached out and shown interest in me. This decision has been one of the toughest decisions I have had to make in my life, but after many great conversations and visits with my family, I have decided to commit to.... The College of Holy Cross!"
Hohenshelt received a lot of interest from schools at the FCS level. Brown, Colgate, Rhode Island, and Saint Francis were among the FCS schools that offered. ODU was another listed offer from Hohenshelt.

Signing day is 5 weeks from tomorrow:
OL (2): Hohenshelt, Miles WR (3): Gordon, Cason, Newton RB (1): Treadwell QB (1): Rauner DL (2): Pritchard-Sewell, Watson LB (1): Croley DB (4): Bostic, Gardner, Newsome, Jones
One outstanding signal from James - my guess is another OL.
How I think the remainder of the class fills out based on what I've seen - estimated 21 recruits in total, so 6 recruits in theory: LB, WR - I would have said no, but they did offer Bowman, RB, TE (2), DB (Safety)
Players on the radar:
Xavier Bowman (WR), Jake Ryan (RB), James Magerko (Safety), Connor Rowlinson (LB), Brady Wagner (TE), Mark Schoonmaker (TE); I'm hoping for either Wagner or Schoonmaker, they aren't taking both; based on the these offers if any one of these kids commits elsewhere I would suspect they continue to recruit that position. Possibly replacing a WR for an OL.
Let's get these 14 players in the boat on 12/20 and hopefully a few more.

I think they both played for Hamden Hall in NEPSAC.

I suspect it will. I will not back off that we should absolutely have been prepared for this moment. Was Kit supposed to name a head coach just hours after Chesney took the JMU job? that's exactly right. The guy controlling the timeline was BC not KH. And if you have to hold any kind of search, even a quick one, then it's impossible. I'd be very concerned about losing 4-5 of our top recruits. I don't happen to think we will, but would be concerned until we know more about late signing targets who could be very good with 4 fulls in play.

Don’t forget, if the next hire comes in guns blazing then we could hit some portal lottery as well. Times have changed! That's a good point, the new coach may have some commits who follow him. (I'm not sure if we are good at the football portal game but that is another story.)

Agree....I'm not of the opinion that Kit is necessarily unprepared....the next 2 weeks ( hopefully shorter ) will tell the tale, but I sense that KH has been prepared for this the day the minute he walked on campus....He knew BC was eventually moving on...

I think it’s possible they picked up a commit this weekend. Barnes sent out his hand shake tweet. If so - great job by the staff. I do know 7 verbally committed kids were on campus. Another 7 are supposed to head up next weekend. Can we assume that if a kid who’s verballed is going to be on campus, then we can expect a signature from them? Seems like a lot for a kid to come to campus only to recommit.
