Looks like the former Fordham QB has impressed Washington and will be in camp next month - from the Commanders blog:
"The Commanders have signed Fordham quarterback Tim DeMorat.
In 2022, DeMorat absolutely tore it up at Fordham, throwing for 4,891 yards and 56 touchdowns in his senior season. DeMorat played in 48 games at Fordham across five seasons, throwing for 13,461 passing yards, which is third-most in FCS history.
Now, he joins Sam Howell and Jacoby Brissett in the quarterback room in Washington."
Always a plus to see former PL stars getting closer to making NFL rosters.

HC during his career. I, however, fully agree with you and hope he lights it up

He's not up against a murderer's row in the Quarterback room.

He's not up against a murderer's row in the Quarterback room. Until our league consistently puts players in the League, we should root for all of our opponents at the next level...having a good opportunity to possibly start an NFL game this year at QB (would likely be dependent on injuries, but it is not a far fetched concept) would be fantastic for us and the PL in general. Being able to point recruits to Kalif, Edmonds (if injuries haven't gotten the best of him), and DeMorat will show we can produce NFL level talent that can also produce at the next level.

I root for all FCS players to do well in the NFL, especially the select few that come out of the Patriot League. And, I count the rare Army or Navy player to get that opportunity as an honorary PL alum.

The Commanders released DeMorat yday Nice college quarterback, but I never thought he was one of the 96 best quarterbacks in the world. Be interesting to see if he ends up on another team’s practice squad.

DeMorat’s arm strength doesn’t seem to be up to NFL standards but a very good PL quarterback. Fordham will miss him greatly.

How could the Commanders pass on a player who won so many league titles in college? Oh...that's right.I guess I forgot.

What's the source of this evaluation about his lack of arm strength? While I'm no expert, our buddy Kalif's QB has been criticized for lack of arm strength and last I saw, he's still got a QB job . . . . .and a starter. I suspect Tim's situation is more complicated and nuanced than his arm strength . . . or his failure to win a league championship . . . . or never having beaten a Crusader team. (that last one is obviously a joke).

(that last one is obviously a joke). It's no secret (or shouldn't be) that he is a pro-style pocket passer. Given that, he better have a strong and accurate arm coming out of college. Apparently, his arm is not quite there (relative to an NFL quarterback) but he certainly is going to continue to give it a shot. (While I'm no expert I do know there are current NFL quarterbacks at the upper and lower ends of NFL arm strength and accuracy.) nfldraftblitz.com/2023/02/08/2023-nfl-draft-scouting-report-qb-tim-democrat-fordham/

Kudos, for this report, pride. and while this scouting report confirms your belief in lack of arm strength, the report also indicates that's just one of his many deficiencies as an NFL prospect. Assuming this guy is an expert, if I owned a team, I wouldn't waste my time on him:

The Commanders released DeMorat yday That was quick. Could it be that DeMorat's strength as a college QB was more related to the talent of his receivers than his own physical tools and abilities? That Kokosioulis kid scared me.

That Kokosioulis kid scared me. His arm strength and accuracy were certainly sufficient to excel as a pro style Patriot League quarterback. It is also true he had some very good receivers and a nice offense.

Interesting that this analyst believes that Fordham has a “very primitive offense”
Damning overall evaluation of DeMorat

Interesting that this analyst believes that Fordham has a “very primitive offense” Damning overall evaluation of DeMorat Obviously he didn’t watch the HC game. One of the best offensive performances I’ve seen - probably would have won the game had HC not gone for 2!
