The Massey ratings/predictions you are quoting must have been made by the late, great Raymond Massey, famous for his roles playing Lincoln and not for his basketball knowledge.

He was one of my favorite actors from that era. Certainly I loved his portrayal of Lincoln. I also liked him in a lesser known (today) sci-fi-fi film Things to Come, based on the HG Wells book The Shape of Things to Come. (This 1930s work predicted many of the movements that brought on WWII in Europe.) I would agree that Massey knew little about basketball, but I also know he has not made many point spread predictions since his death.

Maybe it's my imagination, but our offense doesn't run as smoothly and efficiently as it used to. Frankly, we just don't look like a well coached team. For many seasons our women's team was much better on offense than our men's team.

I always wonder and it drives me crazy when your team is down 9-10 with under 2 minutes to go and you casually bring the ball upcourt and then dribble around sort of aimlessly like the clock is on your side.

Embarrassing loss. BU 66-49. This is a team in deep trouble, can't hit wide open shots. Looks like my early optimism was misplaced.

I always wonder and it drives me crazy when your team is down 9-10 with under 2 minutes to go and you casually bring the ball upcourt and then dribble around sort of aimlessly like the clock is on your side. In three consecutive possessions with between 3 and 1 minutes remaining, HC took about 18 seconds, 18 seconds again, and 15 seconds to get off a shot. HC fouls with 22 seconds left and down by double digits. Broadcast showed CBG on the bench, staring at the floor with under a minute left. I watched the first few minutes, then most of the 3rd and 4th quarters. In the interval, it went from a tied game with BostonU not looking very good, to BostonU being up by 20.

Awful. Awful. Crushed by a 2-9 team. Offense chaotic. Manis standing at top of the key and the rest taking perimeter heaves. Nothing else. I have had this gut feeling for some time that BG is just too comfortable. There's about 40 years of head coaching experience on the bench. What the hell are they doing in practice? They had plenty of time to prepare for this game. BG should be all set financially. He should be doing retirement planning.

This game was sad to watch. It appears this will be a very long season for the women.

Another thing my gut tells me is that BG is very entrenched at HC. He has been a good representative of the school and I believe TPTB appreciate it.

I wonder how many who watched this game today feel the coach had this young team prepared.

Agony drama isn't helping. What if a player acted like that? C'mon Nate Pine. Salvage the season! BTW this time I can assure you were looking at opposing players that some HC girls used to easily handle in AAU. HC has some players that can get the job done who do not play. Starters plateaued in development. How can you allow shooting percentages like that and not pull a player out?? Players in the game are not always the best choice.

Don't know if this the same BU team I watched vs Marist (were players injured that night?) but they were not very good. I am very surprised by this result today.
