This is a ringing endorsement of Dave Paulsen. No other way to interpret it... even if teams 4-10 in the league are a "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king". That's one more eye than we've had for the last 4 years.

Since there are very few secrets in recruiting, I have to believe that our freshman class also figured in the coaches voting us that high. Also partly due to DP

Does anyone know the story behind Jalen Rucker leaving AWP after three seasons - as I understand cadets must commit to military service when entering their junior season so transfers after 3 years are very unusual, and a big blow to WP's chances this season. Where did he end up ? My only thought is that since such transfers have to repay the Army when leaving after three years and Rucker is figuring his NIL deal will take care of that debt. link was updated in September. See the para on Service Requirement sgp.fas.org/crs/natsec/IF11788.pdffrom this it appears he could repay the education cost or perhaps work it off with enlisted service Since he entered the portal after the deadline, unless he is a grad transfer, he needs an NCAA waiver to play in '23-'24. It is my understanding that the 'service requirement', for mids & cadets who enroll from civilian life, doesn't attach until reenrollment for sophomore year.

Much of the league is unquestionably weaker this year. Army, Navy, Bucknell, Boston U, and Lafayette all lost a lot more than HC did. The first four of those five all lost three or more of their top four players. Bucknell lost their top three players. (Nathan Davis left the program in shambles. He was a worse coach than FCBN.) Army lost a player who would have been one of the league's top two players, plus three other starters. Navy lost four starters including their top 2-3 players. Boston U lost four starters, including Walter Whyte. Etc. Nathan Davis worse than Bret Nelson?? Them’s fightin words, Bison!! And Davis got a D-1 job within weeks of being let go....
