I'll distinguish to prevent confusing the two game treads in the future.
Navy is 7-5 (5-0 at home). The game tips off at 1:00pm. Massey makes Navy a 15 point favorite (71-56) and says they have a 90% chance for the win.
Line-ups will be posted by me later today. Happy New Year to all.

Watching the HC arm-up was a bit troubling. The jump shot drill in warmups aw HC miss 27 of their first 29 jump shots - all from 2 point range. There were even two air balls. I hope that got all of these out of their systems now.
The Navy coach spoke about HC's high number of turnovers per game (18.5). That would seem to be an area of focus for the middies' defense.

HC had 7 turnovers in the first period. That is upsetting and erased Infiniti some time on the bench (she had 3 TOs). HC down by 3 early in the 2nd period (17-20) and Infiniti gets another turnover (travels).

A poor high school team. Toreador defense. Can Ganser do anything right? Other than Waheed and Manis, very poor individual skills. Overall, other than Manis, this team has REGRESSED. When this happens you have to look to the coaching. BG needs counseling for his head scratching and closed-eyes behavior.

Lose by 1. Pathetic. If the men lose tonite, will this be the THIRD weekend in a row where BOTH men and women lose?

The team did look a bit better but losing this one by a single point (when they had the ball at the end) in an away game where they were 15 point unerdogs is heartbreaking. Better, but a loss is a loss. The predicted 18 turnovers were a big factor...as were the 8 more rebounds pulled in by Navy.

Of our 18 TO's, Waheed committed 7!

When this happens you have to look to the coaching. BG needs counseling for his head scratching and closed-eyes behavior. For those who actually watch these games, does it seem like BG is overly loyal to Ganser or does it appear he doesn't think anyone else can do the job? I saw her play in high school, what she's contributed in college falls within the range of the skill set I saw 4 years ago. Looked like she knew the game, but just didn't stand out in any appreciable fashion.

19 mpg, 2 ppg. 3.5 rpg. Pretty much a nonentity out there unless she's some kind of defensive standout.

I agree that ganser gets too much playing time. She is in there to rebound but offensively she is a liability. She choked by missing 2 ft's badly with 3 minutes left, and I counted three layups (albeit under pressure) that she missed. Time to play someone else for those minutes, bu the problem is 'who?'. we don't have much talent up front on this team. Hasenauer should be the one to play that '4' position but she has no consistency game to game.
We had all the momentum in the 4th qtr and with our experienced juniors and ganser in there for much of the closing minutes, no one could make a shot. we had 'zero' field goals in the last 4 1/2 minutes and only 2 ft's during that period. I'd call that not knowing how to close out a game.
We have so many guards with similar skill sets, I think it's hard to manage all of them. Byrne, Doherty, Smith, Pedi, and Springfield all played 10 minutes or more today

Only watched intermittently. Both teams underwhelming with their offensive sets and ball movement. Several times In the last few minutes, a Navy player physically ripped the ball out of the hands of a HC player.

I always thought in general he was a better coach when he had a few less options.

Don't forget that Ganser's older sister was a mainstay of this team Maybe it's BG's loyalty to the Ganser family.

Agree with above. Overly loyal to #15 and even more so to #5. Thats funny - Crossed eyes! The camera zooms in on his hair pulling. BTW someone jumped on me after the last game when I said that HC has players that can do well who don't get in the game? Guess what... #14 got in and knocked and knocked some down. Next go #11.

I think people jump on you because you apparently have a daughter on the team who apparently doesn't play very much and you come here to throw her coach and teammates under the bus in a public forum.

Won't take all that much detective work for the interested student (remember that phrase from our HC days, folks?) to figure out* who the friend/relative/daughter is at this point.
Hopefully it turns out better for biggestfan than it does for the football poster who tried to make a case for replacing Peter Pujols with Blaise Bell (who got his chance and proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the remainder of his HC career will be at wideout).
* and I sincerely hope that BG has adopted the CBC position that he has no reason to ever read this board.

Of course coaches will say they never read this Board. I don't believe for a minute. I hope coaches at any school don't read their teams message boards. These coaches know more about their sports then we could ever forget. No need to listen to bunch of folks that have never coached at that level and think they know more then they do!
