Not about winning the press conference. Must be 10-2 or better in 2024. This is not a rebuild - td128 likes to say “Let’s Win” - no excuses -

HC is reloading, not rebuilding so let's get started once all our ammo is in place!

I watched Coach Dan Curran's press conference, and I couldn't be happier. He said everything I was hoping for, and more. He is confident, articulate and knows what he is talking about. He gets us and that is huge. The only thing that I don't understand, in view of everything he said about Holy Cross, is why did he go to UNH instead of HC? He had Pete Vaas in his living room, for crying' out loud! Anyway, I am glad we have him now.

My guess is, we couldn't offer a full scholarship then....we were in that never, never land of financial aid only then....UNH was the better option for his family then unfortunately....thankfully, that's mostly changed.

Check the schedule and also acknowledge the fact that it would take more that this past season's four losses for next year to qualify as a step back.

So 7-4 is acceptable? That was not good Enough this year. And it won’t be next year. Either you are a contender or a pretender.

We are not pretenders....This is a pivotal time....We are either SDS or Sacred Heart....Lets decide what we are That rhetorical question is a non-sequitur. No one suggested the record this year was acceptable, or that we shouldn't aspire to do better. However, right now we are a 7-4 team, and we are what our record says we are. Obviously then, we do not "take a step back" unless we do worse than that.

7-4 and won a share of another PL championship. Obviously, we wanted & expected more. "Woulda', coulda', shoulda'"? If not national champions(SDS) then HC is Sacred Heart? Nothing in-between? Would some describe this year as a failure? For me personally, the season was frustrating, disappointing, shoulda' won more games but a championship season is not a failure in my book.

Sorry, but this year was a failure......to lose the way we did at Alumni Stadium, Michie Stadium, WooSox Stadium, and at Fitton to a team that should have beaten you a year earlier, ( hence, the team should have been prepared for ) with that level of graduating talent, was a failure.....it is not preposterous to suggest that we should have been 11-0 and heading to Frisco as a #2 seed...Ches knew it, hence he took advantage of the JMU opportunity while it existed, and Coach Curran knows it as well,. knowing he has a unique opportunity to take this franchise to the next level....I suspect from what I heard today, he will.....

Have to be honest. Curran reminded me a lot of a young Tom Gilmore in that presser.

Seriously....I would be happy with 6-6 next year....tough transition....Curran will have us heading for higher in no time though At first I scoffed , but given our huge roster hits I wouldn’t call us favorites over URI, UNH, H &Y, Syracuse, and Laffy. And Bryant and some other PL team are possible losses. FWIW, I did notice Coach Curran referenced Joe P as our quarterback. Not ‘one of the quarterbacks’. Was hoping there’d be a press conference question on regular redshirts (in which case he’d potentially have Joe P for 2 years).

Id consider 7-8 wins next season a good season, and not necessarily a failure if we don't hit it. A lot will depend on the OL, in my opinion, but the offense as a whole is going to have to adjust from losing such an established identity.
I do think this season was a failure though. No way we should have lost 4 games this year, and we wasted some of our all time greats final seasons. In two years time or so, I'd probably consider a 7 win season for HCDC a failure (or at least disappointment)

I too am disappointed with the results this year, but we lost to two FBS teams by a total of 6 points. And, I must say, the BC game was one of the most incredible experiences at an HC athletic event in recent memory. To me it was somewhat of a moral victory. We were the better team....obviously. It just didn't go our way. We went to the national quarterfinals last year and we've seen some of the most impressive individual performances in HC history. Think about where we were 10 years ago. I wish the results were better this season, but given what they were I still had an awesome time watching those guys play. Onward and upward. I'm confident Curran can deliver what Chesney could not. Go HC!

Just saw the press conference. I think we're in very good hands. Dan Curran clearly gets HC, and I feel confident that his passion for and understanding of the School will take us to more and better successes..

Have to be honest. Curran reminded me a lot of a young Tom Gilmore in that presser. Glad someone brought this up because it also crossed my mind as well. Personally, I hope we get all the old-school emphasis on toughness with dynamic O play-calling in Curran. He spoke about Kelly's influence in scheme on him yesterday...let's see how it comes together via the staff. Also found a little nugget in this old article about Curran: www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/how-oklahoma-states-prolific-offense-found-mike-yurcich/

Have you looked at the schedule?
We just lost 4 All Americas to graduation.
It's a significant rebuild of the OL.
I like what I see with Curran but if he goes 8-4, he is doing a fantastic job.

Hard to quantify/describe the 2023 season.....it certainly wasn't a "failure"....sharing a 5th straight PL title, nearly beating BC etc is hardly failing.
I suppose "disappointingly frustrating" is the best descriptor....not making the playoffs, not winning either FBS game, beating ourselves at Polar Park etc.
We all probably collectively "read our own headlines" i.e. preseason Top 5 etc and anything much short of another undefeated season and deep playoff run would be deemed a failure by some.
If any one of those 4 losses goes the other way, we are either outright PL champs or in the playoffs. Very frustrating.....a feeling Curran can hopefully use to motivate the guys in 2024.
