this game is basically a toss-up. 'gate is 4-9 overall and 1-1 in pl. wins over brown, towson, liu and lafayette. series is 52-5 in hc's favor, but times have changed, i'm afraid. 11:15 start and let's hope the kids give our team a boost.

better 2nd qtr for HC. down 29-27 at the half. getting the ball to Manis who is the best player on the floor. our ft shooting is embarrassing 2 of 7 so far, and 10 turnovers hurts. improvement on both of these will help to get this game.

Just tuned in on PLN. Wow- what a crowd! Would love to have that type of excitement and enthusiasm at the Hart for more of our men's and women's games. Those elementary school students could teach our current students a thing or two about cheering for our teams. Great idea to do.

loss 62-54 we score 'one point' in the first 7 minutes of the 4th qtr 28% fg for the game 54% ft for the game 17 turnovers.
I'm afraid this team has lost its confidence and that's going to be tough to restore. Have to hope some unexpected players step up, and quickly !

I don't follow the women's program all that closely, but do we need to be thinking about heading in a new direction with the head coaching position?

HC still put up 11 more shots than Colgate; and CU only made 2 three pointers.
But CU went to the line 27 times, making 22 of them. HC was 7-13. I actually think the 13 is more of a problem than the 7, not easy to get into a rhythm at the line when you don't get there.

This was a terrible loss...and at home. HC may well be in one of the last two PL spots in regular season unless lightning strikes somewhere.

There's something going on inside the program. There is only one big with an offensive presence--Manis.

Watched only the fourth quarter. Refs seemed to be calling a bunch of dinky fouls. That aside, HC had to foul at the end to try and regain possession.
I know in previous seasons, when the women's team was struggling, this was often 'blamed' on injuries. A fair point. However, looking at the bench today, it appeared that entire team was dressed in uniforms.

I don't follow the women's program all that closely, but do we need to be thinking about heading in a new direction with the head coaching position? I followed the women's team religiously for about ten seasons, through the Fontana era, less and less since. I defer to HC13 and others who follow the recent editions closely, but this appears to be shaping up as the worst team ever in Gibbons' tenure. Holy Cross hasn't won a regular season championship in a dozen years, and though they've shown up in the PLT championship games six years since, they're 1-5 in those decisive contests. A lot of BG's success, imho, was due to the long-gone scholarship advantage, and superior recruiting work by Kelly Greenberg and Melissa Hodgdon. In the heyday, the team routinely drew 1,200+ fans to their games - now it's down to about 400 He is never going to be terminated - it will be his decision alone. He has been one of the best mid-major coaches of the last quarter century, but all good things must come to an end. It's time.

After Coaches Night, I was certainly expecting something different. Did I misunderstand that three freshmen are their home state's high school player of the year?

I think Gibbons has earned every penny of it - and after the season is over, I hope he announces that he will retire after the 2017-2018 season.
Then let's hope NP gives Carla Berube a call . . .

Why does he need one more season? He's had many "one more season." He has been very well treated by HC. And he had a good run that ended some time ago. I don't think HC "owes" him anything.

I think the chance of landing Berube would be low. According to the UConn board, she has turned down a number of opportunities to interview for mid major jobs, and she really likes it where she is.

Understood, 137. But her roots are in the Worcester area. It's worth the call.
