I liked the "Sunshine boys" behind the mic tonight. Same ones as the men's game I believe.

A super effort by our top 8 players - in a perfect world would have seen a bit more ability from our three frosh in the 4th, Lewis particularly looked overmatched against Laf’s scrubs

Pretty much the same - she has made 3 of 10 shots from the field this season and is 0 for 3 from the line. It’s not those stats but just the way she seems uptight when she’s on the floor

She has all the time she will need to develop. The nervousness will pass. But, she knows she has a lot of talent on the team with her and may feel pressured to make her mark in the short court time she sees currently.

I reviewed the game again this morning from the time that Simone L, entered for Callie at 7:05. In her time in play, she collected 3 rebounds while running the floor well and aware of players on her perimeter. Defended in the paint while giving up a sizable disadvantage regarding weight and height to Brynn Beffert (6-1 vs 6-0) and two inches in height to Tasha Chudy (6-2 vs 6-0)
Agree with RGS. I disagree with Haze. Suggest you review the video again.
Hopefully with continued practice and coaching, she will develop the same inside movement and comfort in the paint as Janelle in the near future.

AU, Colgate and BU all lose. HC all alone in first place.

I share your hope that the frosh develop - I'd ask you to compare the readiness of last year's frosh, Foreman and Flanagan to contribute to a talented roster (with this season's frosh) ?

There's not enough minutes to give the freshmen any.
9 players have played over 100 minutes and Cahalan is threatening to get in that mix as well.
Not sure what anyone is going to find out about them playing in blowouts.

Foreman and Flannagan were more ready but also arrived after four seniors graduated and one player transferred out. Flannagan and Foreman pretty much replaced the minutes of LaBarbara and Petro. The same type of minutes aren't available to be replaced by our scholarship frosh this year. Foreman has moved into Addisyn Cross' starting slot this year so I suppose the current freshmen in competition with returning players have failed to replace Simone's minutes as a top sub last year so they are not as ready as Foreman was last year.

Callie we hardly knew ye. Callie Wright is listed as a senior. She has at least one more year of eligibility. I wonder if due to her transfer she is on pace to graduate from HC this Spring or next Spring? There will be plenty of minutes to replace next season, would love to have Callie back.

Callie is finished after this season. Yes, she could play another season but I suspect she and the coach decided she would wrap it up this year. It is clear that four seniors among the top 8 or 9 players are departing and that's part of my reason to look somewhat critically of this year's frosh. We can agree they will have to grow up quickly.

The most recent post on the MBB Lafayette game thread is "I think with a legitimate point guard we win last night." I'm not a sharp enough analyst to break down PG play, but in WBB we have gone from four years with Avery to hopefully four years with Kaitlyn. To the extent that Cara plays the one and Kaitlyn plays the two and Addysin played either before, all the better because we are covered in case of injury, foul trouble or other calamity.
In general passing, which begins with the initial ball handler, is excellent.

I don't disagree with you generally. But, they do have 5 players returning, including 2 starters, so they have a pretty solid core. The 2 incomimg frosh look to be potential contributors & I think both Lewis & especially Bachmann have a very good upside. That said, I suspect we may see one or possibly 2 more additions either from the '24s or the portal, but what do I know.

Case against the portal: denies coach the ability to develop players over four years. Case for the portal: One or two quality players seeking to transfer to HC for good coaching in a winning program could put the Crusaders over the top.
