One question asked earlier today was answered...can HC win two in a row? The answer is yes! ; Here's another one with a "No" answer. Can HC run "isos" at the end of a game like NBA teams do? To me, if they lost, it would have been as much on DP as the players for calling for that sh*t. Run your damn offense, it was working! Just watched the game w/the sound off, may have missed it on closed captions- what the heck happened to Perry?

Does anyone have info on the absence of AJ Wills? He's sick Thanks for clarifying, revj - hope he feels better soon; need him back. Watched the post game interview with Coach Hardy. He confirmed Perry wasn't hurt or ill; then launched into a minute of coach speak. Sounds like the coach wasn't happy about something. Game was sloppy, of course, but the margin of victory won't matter in the final seedings for the tournament. I'm just HOPING they are chipping away at the nasty losing culture, and replacing it with confidence. Louth had another game when he just did what he needed to do - kept Loyola's bigs from doing much, gave Caleb some rest, etc. Needs to keep that up. Bo and Batch with 4 turnovers apiece, but both scored in double digits....and Bo had 7 dimes as well. I feel for Golden Dike - his foul shooting keeps him on the bench more than it should. He seems frustrated when he's actually playing. He's a good player otherwise, but his foul shooting makes Louth look like Roger Breslin. Two more big games next week. Hoping Singleton's injury was just a tweak, cause they are especially going to need him if Octave is still out.

My immediate thought was a Malcom Butler Super Bowl LVII benching or maybe BN's benching of the freshman in his first season.

In three of our four PL wins, we turned what appeared to be comfortable late leads into nail biters. Coaches need to figure out why this is happening and fix it.

BN vs Louder... coach speak seemed to confirm ' w/o Brennan understands our game & tries to execute it.'

At the risk of stating the obvious, if you are going to milk the clock the clock at the end of the game, you need to make your free throws and take care of the basketball. HC has been terrible at doing that in the last two games but somehow escaped with wins. On the plus side, it has been nice having the lead going down the stretch.

It’s almost always true for freshman, but we have upper classmen who were never taught how to close. With DP and staff in place that’s changing. Yesterday they were two bad turnovers and defensive stop away from a double digit win.

Game wasn't pretty, but it's hard for me too be too upset about it. The team is growing game by game and we we've won two in a row.
Good enough for me. Onto the next.

It looked as if we had no athletic trainer at the game when Kahlil was unattended after he suffered his injury.

Williams' misses were especially terrible. He seemed to forget his free throw form entirely. Complete bricks, you just knew they were misses the second he let them go. I think he's gone from 10-11 on the season to 10-15. Do not like using the phrase "choke", but in that situation....

We had back-to-back games with a KenPom defensive efficiency under 100 (the lower the better on this stat) for the first time since back-to-back wins over Am U and BU towards the end of last season

You have to beat the teams in the bottom of the standings. HC did that
HC had about a ten point lead with 7-ish minutes Then went four consecutive possessions without getting a shot off. That made things tight. Some more turnovers down the stretch. When HC tried to burn clock, they used too much time. I think it's better to start the offense a little sooner with hopes of getting a quality shot with 8 seconds left than a poor shot with 3 seconds left. There was plenty of time left at this point.
Any time you win when your leading scorer isn't dressed is good
Singleton had a big game against Harvard, Next time out against D-I competition he was shut out. Freshman inconsistency. After 18 on Monday, 9 points vs Loyola before taking an early exit injured
Next 3 games are against the top 3 teams in league. Hoping team is closer to full strength for this stretch

Did anyone else notice that on the play where Singleton got hurt, the shot was from behind the 3 point line, but when the offensive player landed his foot that Singleton contacted was at least two feet inside the arc? This is often called as an offensive foul in the NBA when the shooter sticks his leg out that far. Is the rule different in the NCAA?

I saw the 3 point shot, the shooter land inside the arc and Singleton come down on his foot there - after the shot. I still can't figure why he got 3 shots instead of the 2 he should have been awarded. Yes, if the ref thought he put his foot out there to have Singleton land on it he could have been called for an offensive foul...that was not their interpretation.
As to the trainer, in the replay he is at the end of the HC bench and spoke to Singleton but he did not seem to need much in the way of help.

Yes, if the ref thought he put his foot out there to have Singleton land on it he could have been called for an offensive foul...that was not their interpretation. no, the referees were correct in awarding him three shots. The only thing that matters is where his feet are when he leaves the court. It is irrelevant where he lands in terms of the number of FTs. I am not sure why the color man started talking about one foot having landed inside the arc, since that did not matter at all as far as how many shots should be awarded. Someone might want to send him a copy of the rulebook.
