Worcester is truly the Hart of the Commonwealth today, getting attacked at noon and 5pm from East and West.

Team needs to play with a lot more intensity and urgency, like they did in the 3rd period. AIC much more skilled than HC. Need to put much more pressure on the forecheck. The second goal was terrible, with the AIC player going end to end and splitting the D. While not easy need to put more bodies on them and shots to the net. The 3rd period was signature HC hockey. Outstanding 5 minute penalty kill and kept constant pressure on them. Could have scored many goals if not for great goaltending and no luck missing net, crossbar, etc. Get back to what has made us successful tonight!!

If AIC has more talent then Riga is a terrific coach since HC earned home ice for the semifinals and are tied up 1-1. Great to see both Worcester and Springfield with good D-1 hockey programs. Hope more minor league hockey fans from each city catch on.

At the Hart. Very disappointing crowd for an elimination game in the semis.

0-0. Late first. HC with the better of the so far but 2 guys in the box. AIC will have a short 5 on 3 and then a 5 on 4.

0-0 after 1. AIC will start with a 4-3 for 4 seconds, then 5 on 3 for 19 seconds, then 5 on 4 for 19 seconds. HC controlling play for the most part.

Unbelievable shot disparity but not enough goals.

It looks like AIC rode a hot goalie into the championship round at RIT - HC’s advantage in SOG in these last two games was stark

A logical worry. Coach LaChapelle was extended on the women's side I believe. It would be a shame if there is not enough left to reward and extend Coach Riga.

Change the budget😇✝️ We have the dollars they just need to make the right investments From what's been explained by Pak, tuition is fixed once a year, endowment distribution is fixed once a year, the CAF is relatively stable and could possibly decline if some contributions are shared with NIL, and increased ticket sales, signage, concessions from hockey's improved performance probably won't be too large. Where do we have the underutilized or poorly allocated money? Maybe we get a good pay-out from two NCAA games? A cut of the gate from the Iowa game would be sweet, but I'm not sure how that works. I'm hoping Kit has extension money for Coach Riga already budgeted and it's enough to keep him.

The distribution by the NCAA is to the conference and the conference shares with the schools how it wants. Some conferences split it while others give a larger percentage to the team that made it

From what I see and know it HC is more than happy with a MDC-style rink and a twenty win season here and there. Success has many definitions and standards. Just have to select which form of success you want.

And sadly, continually accurate at Holy Cross. - To change this, a significant change in the strategic priorities and expectations of the institution at the Board of Governors level would be needed. Let's not hold our breath.

Schools that HC was once athletically superior to are now well beyond HC in athletic success. But many of them do not have a goal to meet every students full financial need and to climb past other quality schools in the national liberal arts category.
Many of these schools above us athletically are regional universities and have a mission to serve their communities with high acceptance rates, nursing and other in-demand disciplines that are needed in their region, continuing education, graduate degrees for teachers, Police, fire, etc.
I guess HC is on a different plane being a national liberal arts college. And it's an expensive plane. Many other schools in our category have lower cost D-3 sports.
HC is squeezed from above and below. Mt. Holyoke is often near us in our category rankings. They not only are D-3, but like Smith and Wellesley who are generally above us and we are trying to pass, they only have to fund one gender worth of teams.

People can continue with excuses or HC could just figure it out.
It's too bad. College hockey is really exciting.

College hockey is a sweet spot of potential for Holy Cross like FCS. Less teams to compete against to make noise nationally than many D-1 sports.
