1843LLC is announcing our first event of the season. On Friday April 12th, 1843 is having a meet the coaches event at the Beechwood Hotel in Worcester from 6pm to 8pm. Coach Curran and Coach Paulson will be in attendance to meet all of the paid members of the 1843LLC NIL. To become a paid member, please visit our website and contribute any amount up to $1,000 dollars. We are gathering all of the names of paid members as we move along to invite them to future events like golf outings and Summer and Fall events. We ask that you join before April 9th so we have a number of folks to give to the hotel for scheduling. Thanks in advance.

What if I want to give more than $1,000? We'll take it! We understand at 1843 that many supporters want to contribute and become paid members but have limited budgets. We're trying to make it easy for ALL to become members.

To become a paid member, please visit our website and contribute any amount up to $1,000 dollars. Understood, 44. My post was in comment to this, which makes it seem like $1K is the limit.

On the website you can see the payment options under membership. Makes it very simple for you to choose your payment amount.

I saw that. I like the idea of allowing gifts of different amounts...not everyone can afford $1,000 and we don't want to push small donors away since support of HC comes in all sizes.

Probably why most of us thought a membership was $1000. From the other thread:
"We have it at a $1,000 dollar donation will get you in as a member."

Probably why most of us thought a membership was $1000. From the other thread: "We have it at a $1,000 dollar donation will get you in as a member." Lou a number of people contributed $1,000 dollars. We got feedback that not everyone could afford to pony that type of contribution so we’ve adjusted our thoughts to allow payment flexibility as you can see on the members donate tab.

The committee members have done a tremendous service to HC. I wish there was a way to put the whole NIL "Genie" back in the bottle, but we have to deal with reality and you were the ones to do so for Alma mater.

I wish there was a way to put the whole NIL "Genie" back in the bottle, but we have to deal with reality and you were the ones to do so for Alma mater. Perhaps we can liken this to the institution of the designated hitter in baseball. One could oppose vehemently the change to the game, but once it came into being it would make no sense to continue to show your opposition by having your pitcher bat. So, while the NIL has done great harm to college sports it is now the law of the land. I guess you can call me Ron Blomberg....

I believe that the harm to college sports by NIL is permanent and irreparable

I believe that the harm to college sports by NIL is permanent and irreparable I certainly see the NIL changes as permanent, but I would hope not irreparable. After all, folks can - with enough time - adjust to almost anything. The NIL rulings by judges were, I fear, shortsighted and have had negative unintended effects. However, I am hopeful that this will be worked out eventually and that amateur sports, including hoops, can survive.

SMU and Ron Meyer got the death penalty for its football program 40-50 years ago for some stuff that is now considered acceptable.

Reminding everyone of the 1843LLC "meet the coaches" event at the Beechwood Hotel on Friday the 12th from 6pm-8pm. All "paid" members of 1843 are welcome. Again, please go on our website and support both football and men's basketball. We have it where you can designate where you'd like your contribution to be assigned. Thanks!

Thank you for putting on this event for those supporting football and basketball NIL gifts.
It should be a special event with some special nuggets of insights
Enjoy and sorry I won't be there.
