I and two other guys from Venice will drive down to Ft. Myers for this HC Alumni event on March 19. BBQ in tent prior to game. I am amazed to learn that there will be over 200 people (!) in this HC group. It has taken place at Jet Blue Park for the last five years at least. Holy Cross is the Red Sox's largest spring training fan group. I asked the organizer at HC to think about having it take place some times at the Orioles' spring training park in downtown Sarasota, a fantastic fun venue that has won awards. There are nine MLB teams whose spring training facilities are within driving distance of one another on FL's Gulf Coast: Blue Jays in Dunedin, Phillies in Clearwater, Yankees in Tampa, Tigers in Lakeland, Pirates in Bradenton, Orioles in Sarasota, Rays in Port Charlotte, Red Sox and Twins in Ft. Myers. Easy to do a marathon. Come on down!
