I will never attend a Railers game. Check out today's T & G and look at the cities in that league. The fans will never come from those places to watch a game in Worcester. We need to fight for a invitation to join Hockey East. The ECHL will only last approximately 2-3 years and then leave the city.

If HC in HE is to succeed, we'll need the support of the local hockey community as I don't think the HC community alone can put enough warm bodies in the building to make it viable. I understand that a few animated posters here don't necessarily speak for ADNP or the administration, but the tone on this board is troubling. HC should be building relationships in the hockey community and beyond and engaging in positive dialogue.

Manchester is in trouble according to some sources around Minor League hockey. They are drawing only an average of 3200 per game and at 33 percent capacity. The lowest attended teams in that league have been former AHL markets like Norfolk.

Pretty simple really.

Pretty simple really. I'm sure there are creative ways around this if we really want to get there and have the firepower to negotiate with this owner who appears to have been very successful in business, although that time may have already passed us by. Once again, I'm still not convinced that it's even a wise move to join the HE, and this excuse of the Raiders owner preventing us from doing absolutely anything may actually be a blessing in disguise.

I don't think the late, great Al Davis is stopping Holy Cross in this effort. That said "preventing us from doing absolutely anything may actually be a blessing in disguise" might be a nice example of "Jesuitical (or Ignatian) indifference." By the way, has anyone else seen the movie "Silence?"

Let's plow lots more money into FCS football and not pursue HE with any vigor. Typical HC move --

I heard from a relative who recently moved to Shrewsbury, that he had bought two Railer season tickets for himself and his son. He had not heard about HC wanting to play at the DCU, but he was upset that the Railers might be an impediment to that. We'll just have to wait and see. Matunuck, I am not sure your comment about HC not pursuing the HE with any vigor is necessarily the case. After all, back channel communications do not just exist in Washington.

Looks like some schools that used the Hart Center as home ice will be moving to Cliff Rucker's new rink on Harding Street.

Hi RGS, I should have been clearer -- just meant HC shouldn't rollover if the Railers owner plays hardball and doesn't try to work things out in good faith (which, at this point, I do think he's using all the leverage he can to stiff us). We'll see.

I was told a couple weeks ago that Worcester Junior Crusaders said no thanks to the owner of the ferkakta Railers who had offered a mind-blowing amount of $ to take over sponsorship of their club. Smart move by the Junior Crusaders management. They know who will last and who won't.

The Junior Crusaders website indicates they are moving to the new rinks on Harding St.

Say what you want about Rucker and the Railers, at least they are making an effort to market their product locally and regionally. I don't see 1/10 the marketing effort from Holy Cross for any sports program.

I don't see 1/10 the marketing effort from Holy Cross for any sports program. The haters and losers, of which there are several, think the Railers and their very successful owner don't have a prayer at succeeding. It will be interesting to see if the results of their marketing campaign (which appears to be focused on the community) will be more successful than the current HC marketing campaign that appears to be primarily focused on website graphics.

Looks like some schools that used the Hart Center as home ice will be moving to Cliff Rucker's new rink on Harding Street. No surprise there just from a supply and demand standpoint. I'm not sure how many teams play in Hart anyhow, It seems like lots of teams play at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough

The last 2-3 weeks of their schedule are irrelevant vis-à-vis Hockey East...not even the top notch teams are playing home games after the second weekend of March.
There are a lot of weeks where the Railers play one home game on a weekend. Looks a lot of home-and-homes with teams; similar to Hockey East, ironically.
Either the DCU has very little in terms of concerts, etc. to fill the dates; or the Railers got everything in terms of dates they could have ever wanted. I don't think that anyone will be able to say that organization isn't being given a solid chance at success. Up to The Woo to show up (or not show up).

I will not attend any Railer games as long as they do not let HC into the DCU Center.
