So very sad that this once proud and excellent program has fallen so far.

sader1970, You are correct. However, there is still talent here and we may see improvement by PL tourney time (hopefully).

That first quarter was brutal to watch. No baskets for almost the first 9 minutes and a 14 point deficit. The Crusaders look much better in the second quarter (a low bar, to be sure). They closer the deficit to 9 (27-18) but then turned it over for an easy AU basket.

HC closes to within 7 at the half (28-35)
HC leads in rebounding 21-14 (and has 11 offensive reb to only 2 for AU).

The announcer keeps referring to us as "Colgate." Sad.

Unbelievable 2nd and 3rd quarters for HC! Trailing by 8, HC scored the last 16 points of the third quarter to lead 48-40. PS: Since that streak, the announcer seems to have remember this is Holy Cross, not Colgate.

Win or lose, I am impressed by the fact that there is no sign of give-up in this group.

AU was a 14 point favorite in this one and that first quarter made that look like an understatement. Despite ice cold shooting, HC did not lose its poise. This win (especially those middle two quarters and the rebounding) could be the start of something good. Winning three of the last 4 games is also a major improvement. They have gone from 2-14 to 5 and 15, from 0-4 in the PL to 3-5. As was posted earlier there is talent here and it seems to be coming together. They face Navy at Home on Saturday. Massey has the Middies as a 10 point favorite. We'll see if today can be continued...just not that awful first quarter.

I've been critical of BG and the direction of the program but he has to be commended on the manis recruitment. she has a lot of talent and can dominate at this level. 2/3's of the way thru the season, she is no.1 in fg % and 3 pt fg % (among the top 8 players). Going forward it's all about the juniors. we have four with lots of experience but they've all been inconsistent this season. thomas-waheed and byrne are the best of that group at the moment.
