Yes, the cost of college is the scam.
The other scam are colleges admitting full pay kids who might not be academically qualified for the college.
Given what we’ve seen transpire on college campuses in recent years, I’m becoming more and more convinced degrees from a lot of colleges are cheapened. This is venturing into the political sphere (apologies), but isn’t it quite the commentary on the state of higher education when Columbia’s tuition is $90K and is now going virtual because they need to allow their campus get overrun by people who are pro-Hamas.
When I see this — scam.

College cost is the biggest redistribution of wealth scheme in the country. Definitely one of the bigger scams going around these days.

I saw an article on the URI Board, (lots of ads so I didn't copy), in which multiple Power 6 Conference coaches said the average NIL per starter is in the range of 150-200k and one SEC coach said you need at least 1.5 million to put together a roster. Another coach said rumor has it, one P6 school had 3 million to work with and the top NIL deal for a player was supposedly 1 million. College hoops is for the most part, far from amateur athletics, not that it has been for a long time at some schools. And why do we want to be competing in this landscape? I’m honestly ready for FCS college basketball.

If they were never caught (or tied), how did HC "blow" any lead?? I think going from 10-2 to 10-9 would classify as blowing a lead…despite still leading by a run.

I wonder if this was the worst scoring differential in PL games in the program’s history. Doubled up in six of eight games.

Without looking, I bet Gregg Maddox appears there, probably frequently You'll see Mark Buehrle and Roy Halladay, for sure. Very quick workers.

This is great. Two teams that were in the 2024 NCAA tournament and UMass Lowell is a solid program. Grab a couple of other western games on the way back.Should be zero complaints on this one. Won't happen as college hockey is "usually" a two game weekend sport. Given this is played over the holiday break, could extend this trip over the course of two weekends.

If I understood the discussions with the coaches, it is the coaches who will decide how to utilize any funds provided by the 1843 unit. This could be getting a type of equipment that would not otherwise be available or something akin to NIL money as needed for player retention. Everything goes through the coaches. If I did not understand correctly, I’m happy to get told, either by public post or private message. Interesting and thank you, breezy. I was under the impression that all monies through 1843 would be going directly to the players on the team. I would think that equipment needs would be done through CAF.

Maybe hiring Division I assistants as head coaches isn't working out for this program?
Jim Morrissey - Hobart assistant (was an assistant for Adam Pascal, and elevated to head coach after Pascal was fired)
Judd Latimore - Penn assistant
Peter Burke - An assistant under Latimore (was an assistant at Emmanuel College prior to coming to HC)
JL Reppert - Maryland assistant
Go hire Bill Mason from Bowdoin or Casey D'Annolfo from Tufts (if you can pull him away from there).

What was the reason Peter Burke was fired? He seemed to be doing fairly well.
Also, before Burke, Judd Lattimore had a sprinkling of success, relatively speaking. A .375 PL winning % is pretty good for this program.
No one is expecting for HC to contend for a PL championship, but being competitive is a reasonable goal. That's not happening at all with Reppert.

Andrew Nesson must be doing well in practices and individual workouts because I'm not sure why HCEK continues to go to him.
We were trailing 3-2 heading into the 8th yesterday, and he came on in relief where he promptly walked the first two batters.

Can’t imagine there are many times in our program’s history where we’ve swept doubleheaders from Army and Navy in the same season.

After a competitive first half (4-4 at one point; 8-5 at the half), Loyola has decided to turn it on, scoring nine of the next ten goals. They lead 13-5 five minutes into the third.
