I can think of no rational medical pretext for why the parents of one team only can be allowed to enter. Has any explanation been offered?

Thanks for assembling this, Phreek. It seems as though we will be dealing with sequelae from this pandemic for some time to come. One issue that you did not mention is a condition that occurs in children following COVID-19 infection, known as Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in children (MIS-C). This is a condition where different body parts can become inflamed, including the heart, lungs, kidneys, brain, skin, eyes, or gastrointestinal organs. We do not yet know what causes MIS-C, but observations indicate that most children with MIS-C have previously had COVID-19, which seems to trigger the reaction. MIS-C can be serious, and sometimes deadly, but most children have eventually gotten better with medical care. www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/children/mis-c.html

Dr. Rougeau:
“We do have to evolve and listen to the signs of the times. It’s to see and understand that this isn’t the Holy Cross your grandfather went to, it’s not the Holy Cross your father or mother went to. It’s going to be a Holy Cross that is for the 21st century."

I hope that when the PL champ gets to the FCS playoffs, they will be governed by the (have to be less strict, right?) NCAA Covid rules rather than the PL rule where one positive shelves the whole team for the upcoming game. I'm not so sure. Remember, Virginia had to bow out of the NCAA Basketball tourney due to a positive test. The issue is that there needs be a waiting period to be sure others do not become ill.

I am trying in my dotage to reduce what I have been spending on TV/Internet, etc. I have been a DirecTV subscriber for 26 years but the cost has become prohibitive. I want to switch to YouTube TV which I can watch both in Florida and Connecticut for one monthly cost about 30% of my DirecTV package. My problem is that I have saved the Purple Reign documentary on my DirecTV DVR. Does anyone know where it is possible to buy a copy of the show on DVD or how to copy it onto a DVD from the DirecTV DVR? Thanks in advance for any assistance, You are in luck! The entire film is located here: www.purplereignfilm.com

I just listened to a fascinating podcast from "This AmericanLife" with Ira Glass that addresses college admissions this year. I think that it is well worth a listen for those interested in this topic! The Campus Tour Has Been Cancelled How the pandemic has thrown college admissions process into a kind of slow-motion chaos. One of the biggest changes: most colleges have stopped requiring the SAT. For decades, there’s been a debate over whether schools should drop the test. What’s it mean that it finally happened? www.thisamericanlife.org/734/the-campus-tour-has-been-cancelled

One season, my friend and I who were both injured drove him up to the Colgate game with another friend in Father’s old jalopy, with the heat on about 95 the whole way. Every time we tried distracting him enough to turn it down he caught us and turned it back up. He let us raid the Campion basement for tailgating stuff before we left. He wore a hat that read “All the Way with Yahweh.” Father Reedy gave us his credit card after the game so we could stop for a proper meal on the way back home (same day!). He was a good man and that was one of the nicer memories I have of my college days. He was 100% our Sister Jean, minus the national spotlight. Father LaBran was the Mayor of Campion. I attended a Washington anti-war rally with him in 1971 so he had a good long reign. Our nickname for Father LaBran was "Bagdaddy", in honor of his time teaching at the Jesuit University in Bagdad, Iraq.
