Methinks Caleb Green and Ryan Copeland are using us as a safety school. Green is looking higher and Copeland wants Ivy. Wonder if we don't get another recruit for 2016?

• Holy Cross landed a commitment from the 2016 recruiting class in middle infielder Chris Rinaldi, a 6-foot, 185-pounder, from Westfield, N.J. (HS).

For those who want to fire the baseball coach, beware of what you wish for. Aside from his sac bunt blind spot, he is doing a great job at HC with minimalist financial support. Methinks his youth baseball job is alerting him to under the radar kids. I saw a lot of baseball this year, with another chucker or two, a slick fielding middle infielder and a hard hitting OF/3B/DH we’d have dominated the liga. A winning baseball record on the heels of 26 years of NCAA futility is worthy of a parade. FWIW we play a week next spring in southern California at University of $poiled Children (USC), Northridge State and one other school. We also have scheduled Auburn.

imho Two-for-one with UMass is being touted on the Board as a God-send. Maybe we should have DJT examine the “deal.” Two away games and a neutral site game hardly a boon to our scheduling problems. Doubt BC would have scheduled this. Thank you, adnp. I suspect we scheduled the “home” game this year because our brain trust thinks we have a shot with our senior-laden team.

Serendipitously, while I attended the 43rd Annual Capital All-Star game at CUA, I ran into my DMV/NJ/PA AAU guy in the flesh at the game along with a Harvard talent spotter wearing a Harvard baseball cap. What follows are some things they told me about offeree Kyle Copeland and what I observed followed by some other tidbits.
There were two games to see at CUA. One a low major and one a high major game. In the low major game players Butler and Stewart played. They were OK. Both will attend the USNA. Ryan Copeland was in that game for the suburban team. He did not start.
DC team jumped out on the Burbs in the early going gaining a 17- point lead, but an 8 point run by Copeland cut the lead to 12 at half. He carried the team down the stretch and miraculously the Burbs won a game they almost always trailed in, 78-74.
Copeland showed good feet and positioning staying in front of his man on defense. Made two nice passes to cutters for baskets and cut himself a time or two for baskets. He was 4-6 from 3 land (one was a two with only a toe on the line). He hit two clutch free throws with about 30 seconds left. He's long and skinny, needs work in the weight room. His All-Star coach held two practices. In one of them Copeland could not miss. Per my friend who spoke with him, he has been offered by Bucknell, HC and AU and has serious interest from UPenn and Princeton. The Harvard scout said he will refer Copeland to Coach Amaker. This was a well-played game, not an AAU All-Star game. There were no HC coaches in attendance to congratulate Copeland on an excellent game. Missed opportunity in my mind.
In the second game Rawle Atkins of the US All Stars was the dominant player. Totally out-classed in this game were OUR/LU’s Andrew Kostecka and BU's Scanlon.
******************************************************************
My AAU friend has seen Ryan Daly and Copeland. He sees Copeland, off to Phillips-Exeter, as a huge improvement over Ryan Daly, who can shoot but not defend. Can’t understand why we would want another stand and shoot SG. We need a big, no?
**************************************************************************************************************************************
Caleb Green visited. He is a 2017 PG we have offered. A tich taller than AT. Dod not commit. Prolly looking for a higher offer. Doubt we see him again. imho

They are all about the same size and play the 2 or the 3 position. Where are the big guys? Where is the point guard to take over for benzan when he graduates? I disagree with hoops comma I believe we have given up on Daly.

My opinion is what is being said is that a great decision will be made. It will be huge! And everyone else can just shut the hell up because the decision will be made by the highest levels of tptb.

MF has been the DBO, perhaps he is going to step into the vacant coaching position..and it is all a matter of timing (posting the coaches position, filling it, etc..) and then filliing the DBO spot...just a thought.. Can't imagine that being the case. More likely the contracts of Driscoll and fava ran out this year and they were not renewed. Just a theory

The new HC administration and AD still have a few die-hard supporters. However, the new regime has a long way to go to make HC a successful athletics program.
Welcome back 13. The voice of reason.
Go Cross Go! Beat Bucknell!
