Pitino = scumbag. Plain and simple. Also still trying to figure out home Baylor and North Carolina never got probation in the least for their nonsense.

Not enough evidence against the basketball program.

Both are still under investigation and will eventually get punished. UNC committed so many violations over so many years that they made the investigation extremely complicated.

Only the NCAA could announce a decision that leaves more questions than answers.
In announcing sanctions stemming from the Louisville basketball infractions case, the NCAA’s committee on infractions stated that the Cardinals will have to vacate victories in which players competed while ineligible from Dec. 2010 to July 2014. The release did not definitively state whether the school’s 2013 national title or 2012 Final Four appearance were in jeopardy.

U of L has much bigger problems than Coach Pitino with evidence coming to light of financial misbehavior within the senior administration and the U of L Foundation.....

Pitino also suspended for the first 5 ACC games this year.
Leaves a little extra room on the bench for the newest member of the UofL staff -- RJ Evans.

"Disgraced" is too kind...from the show's producer " Dave doesn't take any responsibility for what happened. He still does not." The whole episode is shocking and sad. But, it should not tae anything away from the outrageous behavior of others, such as Pitino. The fact that there may be someone worse, does not make Pitino's behavior any better.

The NCAA's ruling made the front page of the C-J today, of course. Rick may be losing support, e.g. the chairman of the board of trustees replied "No comment. No comment." when asked if he thought RP should remain in his job. There are multiple articles and columns on the subject but one that I found very interesting was a column by Jeffrey Puckett which starts with "Two years ago, after nearly four decades of cult-like worship for University of Louisville basketball, I began the slow process of walking away. It took a while but the Katrina Powell scandal was just too ugly, too inconceivably foolish, and as the bedlam bled into yet another routine season filled with more excuses than achievements, I had to ask myself: Why. Why devote energy, money, the making of nachos, and, yes, love to a program that has become a national punchline, top-heavy with power and riddled with misconduct?....."

What's with this obsession with Pitino? Everyone knows what he did. How long will we beat this dead horse?

What's with this obsession with Pitino? Everyone knows what he did. How long will we beat this dead horse? Unfortunately we probably only know a fraction of what he did. Likely he was able to cover up most of it. He has always been an unethical POS, going back to when he was still a teenager.

Kind of a minor note, but when talking of vacating stuff the phrase "taking down the banner" is almost always used in some manner. Both articles above use it. To the best of my knowledge, UMass hasn't gotten around to actually removing the banner for their 1996 Final Four vacated appearance. The last time I was in the Mullins Center, it was still there. The genie is out of the bottle. People don't unremember. NCAA.com lists Memphis St as the runner up in 2008 even though that appearance is vacated Louisville might be paying back a boatload of money, but somewhere down the road when they get back to the tourney, CBS will tell us that it's their first appearance since 2017 and their last championship was 2013. Their name will still be in all the record books, even is there is an asterisk next to it

But the stigma remains Calipari is frequently cited as the only coach to vacate two final fours. Pitino may be joining him PC was 30 years ago. Kentucky was 20 years ago. I don't see the NCAA looking that far back. In Calipari's case, the investigations were while he was still there
