Per twitter . . . twitter.com/jprizz1819. Handwriting was on the wall when his playing time plummeted during the second half of the season and Iona brought in three experienced SGs in the last month.

Who gives a rat's ass. Kid played at Iona - NOT HC. Why is this in the forum about basketball at HOLY CROSS?

Two comments from Iona fans on the MAAC board:
1. "He didnt want to fight for minutes. And he was going to have to."
2. "I sat next to Proctor's family at the QPAC game, just 3 rows behind the bench. Cluess got on Proctor over a missed defensive assignment, and his dad(?) stood up and ripped into TC calling him weak because he felt it was English who was at fault, to the point where those sitting next to him felt uncomfortable. McGill (another Iona freshman guard) had a big game at QPAC, and his Dad kept yelling at Cluess, "that the young guys can play too".
Never heard a player's parent screaming at an Iona coach, in over 20 years going to Iona games."

Sorry we missed on that. But Cluess is a jerk also.

Eh can't really fault him for leaving when Iona just fills up on JUCOs every year. It's a bad destination for four year players who aren't good enough to be playing at a higher level.

So, so glad we "missed" on this kid and have Karl Charles wearing the purple instead. Good riddance.

I can't imagine how Carmody would have reacted to Proctor's dad if he ended up at HC.

As I had commented on way back when, the tone of his and Daddy's Twitter accounts was a clear prognostic sign of future ego battles. Would have been a poor fit at HC.
By the way, Charles in charge? Indeed.
Nice play, Coach.

Unless the father cleans up his act it's likely the student-athlete will have problems at his next school as well.

As for next schools, I see that College of Charleston has used all 13 of their scholarships for next year. Is it too late for FCMB to run off a player and free up a spot?

What's sad is not the kid but the whole scene...the father thinking he can get away with that sort of behavior. Complaints from players have to be between the player and the coach and done behind closed doors.
One could make the argument that Milan Brown had the magic touch with this kid and his family and this wouldn't have happened, but had Coach Brown been allowed to finish out his tenure at HC and this scenario had still unfolded; this would have been the icing on the cake.
(edit) This must have been known for a while by Iona...they have 7 commitments for next year and 7 available spots, including Proctor's. I would agree with the Proctor side of the argument it's not good treatment to bring in two transfer guards who can only play one year.

That is what happens when you agree to play for a coach like Cluess.

Iona seems to be trying to emulate the blueprint of a high major, with the emphasis on 1 year transfers and Jucos......imo it takes away the one advantage low/mid majors have over the high majors: having experienced laden rosters that have more cohesion than the one and done'ers. That strategy might work in their league, but they're still not going to get the top level talent needed to go very far in March.
I actually feel a little bad for Jahaad. His pop is not doing him any favors with his kind of "support". Word gets around; what future coach is going to want to deal with that?

I take no joy in the struggles of a 19-year-old kid. Seems that he has not gotten a lot of great life advice during his early years. Hope he finds a spot where he can enjoy basketball, surround himself with positive role models and set himself up for a good life.

His is a sad story. I take no pleasure in hearing it. I am a product of the Irish Christian Brothers and I am also sad to see that Iona continues to cut corners to try to have a winning program at the expense of academics and integrity.
