Looks like one of our assistant coaches is making a move. From coachingsearch.com:
Western New England (MA): Per source, Holy Cross (MA) outside linebackers coach Alex Bresner has accepted the defensive coordinator job at Western New Endland. Bresner spent the past two seasons at Holy Cross and has also coached at Allegheny College, King’s College and East Stroudsburg.
Assuming this is accurate, very sorry to see him go -- he did good work for HC recruiting in the Delaware / Maryland area.

I know....wasn't going to post earlier....but we used to lose football assistants to the FBS or the NFL....losing an assistant to take another essentially assistant's job at WNEC? We still have a way to go it seems....

I wouldn't make more of this than it is. In the pecking order of our assistant coaches his role was at the bottom in terms of importance. The chance to be a coordinator at any level is always a great opportunity for growth so good for him.

If this is not a step up in salary for him, it sure looks like a good way to round out his resume. He spent 2 years at Holy Cross. Nothing wrong with him moving along. Good luck to this young man.
Here's his full HC bio. :

Just win. If we don't have a good year this year, lots of coaches will be moving on. Not particularly worried about this one.

Mark McDonough made a similar move in 2011 when he went from OLB coach at HC to DC at his alma mater Ithaca. IIRC last year when the head coach had to step out for medical reasons, Mark got the opportunity to fill in as interim head coach.

Without knowing specifics of a family situation or any other variables, this is pretty common. If you want to move up, this is the type of move you have to make. And if you stay in a lower coordinator/coaches position for too long at one school, it can appear to the outside (right or wrong) that you don't have the drive to take on a bigger challenge.

Murphy looks to have a great attitude and, from his twitter account, has clearly hit the ground running! PS: I offer my thanks Coach Murphy for your service...both to the country while in uniform and now and in the future to Holy Cross while in Purple!

From footballscoop.com today:
"Holy Cross: Bill Nesselt, a former defensive quality control coach at Maryland, has accepted the outside linebackers job, per source."
It now appears that Coach Murphy is the assistant DB coach. Former HC player Parris Johnson, who was announced as a new member of the coaching staff back in April, is apparently no longer on staff.
