I am currently on a bit of a ski vacation in Sun Valley, Idaho. While out snowshoeing yesterday, I was surprised to learn that the local Sun Valley Suns hockey team had a two game weekend stand with the Holy Cross Alumni Hockey Team. I don't know the outcome, but the Holy Cross Alumni won both games last year.

Do we have a hockey alum in Idaho? How else would something like this get set up?

Checked the online directory. Everett Sheen, '11 listed as one of 17 (!) alums in Idaho.
Googled him and he played professionally thru last season and now is an assistant coach with the Idaho Steelheads in Boise.
The Steelheads play in the ECHL and have games every weekend, so unless he organized it for others to play in it while he coached in the ECHL, so not sure it was him.

Have to imagine it's just a way for the more recent hockey alums to get together a few times a year to play a couple of games and have some bonding time. Maybe the opponent subsidizes the travel in some way. The fact that we had to borrow a goalie this past weekend suggests it's not super serious in terms of commitment.

Wow, thanks! Pretty great video report, and the Holy Cross Alumni won! Packed house, at that. I see that the Holy Cross Hockey Alumni play at the Hat for Homecoming. I wonder if this is the some team? Perhaps they are touring, prior to playing the HC Men.
