No offense to Riley....but this is why we are invisible ....worried about a kid who nevah played at HC rather than HC basketball, and its total insignificance right now.'87, I know you are a loyal HC fan who laments what has happened over the years to HC sports and wholeheartedly wishes for better times! But, I must totally disagree with you regarding your comments concerning RC!
As an alum and long time season ticket holder in both FB and BB, I've observed him over the last 4 years as he has patrolled the HC bench doing what he does! He is a respected gentleman and worthy representative of HC!
Fortunately for me, I had the opportunity of a lifetime to be with the team on their journey to the NCAA's in Dayton and Spokane. While on the trip I did meet and converse with this young man on more than a few occasions. I'm telling you, there is no finer gentleman and representative of HC than RC!!! It is my sincere hope that he can suit up for the game on Senior Day on Saturday and get into the game!!!
I for one and many others here on Crossports will be rooting for this to happen and you should be also!!!

I plan to be there and hope to see Riley in uniform but its his call... if so I would like to see him hoist up a shot, I recall CBC said he is the best shooter on the team

He was draining 3 after 3 shooting around after a recent game.

Totally agree with 45 and the only reason I would consider not putting him in was if there was the slightest chance that his career ending prior injury would be made worse. And I think crusader1970 might be on to something with our extra schollie if anyone was to question this move.

We are #4 in the NCAA in assists per FGM

No offense to Riley....but this is why we are invisible....worried about a kid who nevah played at HC rather than HC basketball, and its total insignificance right now. I would agree that the average sports fan can only name about 10 - maybe 15 at most - D-I basketball conferences and that the Patriot League is not one of those. Maybe we are different than alums from the power conferences in that we recognize that these kids are human beings, not just pieces of meat rolled out there for our entertainment. If so, I can live with that distinction. For what it's worth, I have never been to senior day at a power conference school. I have been to senior day at UMass, and I consider the A-10 just a notch below the power conferences. Like Holy Cross, if there was a kid who was team manager for four years and was a senior, that kid got his or her name announced and walked out on the floor with their parents. Recognizing a senior who is team manager on senior day does is not a reason why a program is invisible. Bringing this back to Riley, there are team managers and there are team managers. Listening to both Coach Brown's staff and Coach Carmody's staff, Criswell brings a lot more to the table than a typical manager and is almost like having an extra coach. I don't think that it's so horrible the fans would like to have some level of recognition to a kid who has put in a lot of hours to contribute to the program, even if that contribution isn't on the court. Appreciation for the small things isn't keeping HC off of ESPN ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Riley will have his name announced on senior day. He will walk out to center court with his parents. He will get some sort of plaque and his mother will get a bouquet of flowers. They will have their picture taken. Obviously start by asking Riley if he wants to be wearing a uniform for the pre-game ceremony. If he wants to, I'm with NAD on this one in that I don't see why a waiver would be needed. As long as he doesn't participate in the game, what does it matter if he's wearing a suit, warm ups, basketball uniform, or a cheerleaders uniform? I don't think anyone is talking about a staged cameo in a game like Yiljet had in the American game. Does the NCAA really have regulations about what clothing non-participants wear at games? Oops - I missed that there is also thought about having him eligible to play. Obviously that is apples and oranges in terms of NCAA rules. I say let Criswell wear whatever he wants for a pre-game ceremony. In terms of letting him play, I'm not a fan of stuff like what American did with Yiljet. Yes, you get your name in the books as having gotten into a game, but was it really part of the actual competition? It just seems more like creating an illusion than actually getting into a college game

Anybody ever see the Jeff Fisher coaching philosophy chart? I feel like this is HC in the league this year, regardless of the opponent! Glad to see we did it against a team we "should," but this hasn't been a guarantee thus far this year. Maybe we can wheel off 2-3 in a row before the tourney for some momentum! Otherwise, it's just praying for another miracle run (I'll take that too).

If we had taken care of business versus Maine, Lafayette at home and Army at home we would all feel at lot better at 17-12 those games would have given this season a look and feel or real improvement. But by not taking care of business we don't look much different from last year ( minus our great year end run of course ) and if that happens again in a few weeks I will gladly accept these three losses to teams that we should have trounced.

We did lose 20 games last season as well as losing all 9 league road games so that is different from this season

In my opinion we are much improved over last season although, of course, we are not where we want to be. If you believe in Ken Pomeroy's analytics you can see that we are about 5 points per game better than last season. That's a big difference

On the Criswell issue, ADNP has been contacted by a poster on this board and he is currently considering the appropriate recognition of Riley's 4 year support of the program.

On the Criswell issue, ADNP has been contacted by a poster on this board and he is currently considering the appropriate recognition of Riley's 4 year support of the program. Assuming some sort of ceremonial tip that technically is part of the game (like AU and Yiljet) is considered "appropriate recognition", is it reasonable to assume that the NCAA waiver committee could move fast enough to make it happen by Saturday? I'm guessing he gets a framed jersey - something the typical manager usually doesn't get
