This is so hard for me to believe especially since today at halftime they had a recognition of many HC basketball alums including Josh Sankes. I was thinking of how big & tall Josh was and then remembered how Neil was so much taller. It seems like yesterday that Neil took time off to go back to England for his father's funeral and wasn't sure he would come back.
R.I.P. Neil.

That first game against UNC-Asheville was a spectacle. The place was SRO on Christmas week (no students) so all the locals could come see their favorite son play.
God bless Neil and his family.

I remember the roar of the crowd when Neil got up to go to the scorers table to check in.......and the frenzy when he hit that hook shot on the baseline.......what sad news. Rest in peace, big man.

My son, who, as i posted above, was the freshman team manager in 02-03 wrote :
So upsetting. He was always really good to me, and someone who felt more like a friend than many of the guys on the team that year.

Terribly sad news...........Neil had more than his share of struggles with injuries, etc., but we never expected we would lose him at such an early age. He deserved a much better fate than this. May his mother, brother and sister and the rest of his family be comforted by happier memories of Neil. Good people like him will always be missed.
