Sadly this kind of story is not a rarity in big time college athletics. Fr Brooks was wrong when he said university presidents would follow the academic lead of the Patriot League, but he was right on when he said that big time college athletics was a cesspool

The article is devoid of the fact that colleges and universities opened the door for this situation when they allowed athletes into their institutions that were not students. While Baylor is in the spotlight here, it is one of many institutions that had multiple "problem athletes" over the years.
