hopefully all, or at least one, of the many stations that cover the tourney will do a feature on the '47 HC winner, possibly interviewing some of the players, inc MVP George K.and the Cooz.

Every year some team has a 50th, 60th, 70th anniversary. I don't think they all get showcased on NCAA broadcasts. Perhaps the PR spin for us that would gain traction is 70 years ago a team with the man who defined the role of point guard won the championship and great point guards have led teams to championships since then----followed by a look at the best point guards in this year's tournament field.......

IF we made it in, then a segment might have been put together. But there is really little interest in the 70 year anniversary of HC's win. The only interest is on this board..Sorry 'bout that!

Having a few people around to tell the tale makes a big difference. If there is any interest in telling the story, better do it now not in 5 yrs.
Also, I would assume Mr. Cousy is in Florida or not well enough to attend the BU game where they made special note of championship teams. No one there from 47.

How about taping the interviews now and broadcast later on? Oral history still has a place...but not if we wait too long.

Excerpts from that show that was taped recently could be used either this year or if CBS waits, in 5 years

Foley remembers the college all-stars' fiery coach, former HC coach Buster Sheary, warning the team, "Keep an eye on Cousy. He's a notorious basket hanger."

Yesterday's Courier-Journal carried an article about Man o' War whose 100th birthday was celebrated this week here in thoroughbred country. In the article several pundits waxed eloquent about where the horse ranked next to the all-time greats such as Secretariat and Citation. Trainer Dale Romans put into perspective the difficulty of ranking the all- time greats: "It's like comparing Bob Cousy to Michael Jordan"....

It's tough living in a state where the people are so corrupt, knowing that the places where you all live are populated with nothing but model citizens. Still, I struggle on.
