Uggh. Game was tough to watch. Both teams left it all out on the court, however. It was a real hard fought contest. I just wish that the foul calling was a tad looser. It really interrupted the flow of the game.
Congrats to the Zags on a stellar season. Now, I wonder how the NCAA will handle the UNC cheating scandal of their new champions. I did not hear one mention of it during the game, and my own experience is that many fans are mostly unaware. For me, it puts a giant * next to their achievement.

Does that mean the Zags may soon be the champions when UNC has to forfeit their title?

Unfortunately, no Although past vacancies were all for nonchampions, there is no mechanism for moving anyone up

Thanks, hoops. We had a situation in NJ when a Catholic High School had to forfeit some games (including their County Championship) for using an ineligible player. We looked at our bylaws and could not find any way to move up the second place team. Fortunately the head coach of that team said "I would never want to win a title because of a forfeit." We took him at his word and the title remans open for that year on the list of past champions. (BTW, I later heard he said that just for some positive PR and was annoyed his team was not given the title. He learned to choose his words carefully after that. ) Do college teams have to give back money they received when they forfeit tournament games or league games?

Yes I believe that even if UNC does receive some punishment(football more likely than hoops), taking away their championship will not be included, especially this one since the violations happened some years back.

I was traveling last night, had the end of the game on WFAN AM radio, thought I heard the guy say 77,000 screaming fans, figured I didn't hear it correctly.
WSJ's Jason Gay on his nose bleed seats:
"I’m not even sure it was still in Arizona. Technically, I believe it was closer to San Diego"

Network TV rather than cable, plus a west coast team playing keeping viewers on the left coast tuned in are the reasons for the 30% bump in viewership.

Saw this tweet today. Made me laugh.
"Justin Jackson was home schooled from 4th grade until college at UNC?
So he literally has never attended a single class since 3rd grade."
