Not much in terms of actual information about the coming season. Interesting that HC, with so many veterans returning and the #2 offense in the PL (and the best QB and WR) is picked for 4th. Perhaps an improved defense could be the difference between prediction and actual results.

Well on the one hand we are going to be a "blast"(60s word) (PL will also be a "blast") and we have the second and third best players, but on the other hand, we are projected to finish 4th. As the saying goes, not exactly rocket science Fordham will be a national title contender ??

I don't consider Lehigh to be much of a surprise team, they beat us easily last year

Fair assessment, particularly based our performance against the 3 other top 4 teams.

It appears that Campus Insiders spent maybe ten seconds putting this together.

Perhaps an improved defense could be the difference between prediction and actual results. This source isn't at all impressive so let's see what the PL poll shows. If it's similar, people would seem to not be impressed or swayed by HC's scholly talent versus others and/or confident in the abilities of this staff. If at all accurate, why that prevailing doubt ?
I think Gilmore is on a short leash. With the $95 million dig and the big OOC tilts looming, really doubt another 6-5/3-3 type season is what Pine is looking for.

I have no doubt whatsoever that Tom Gilmore is looking for those numbers either. Football seems to be not just a game of inches but of milliseconds. My expectation and prediction is that we will win or be in very close contention for the PL title this year.

I have not seen any meaningful comparison with the other PL teams.

Obviously the expectations are understandably high next season. TG, staff and returning core certainly have their eyes on a championship and a playoff berth and are heading into camp with the idea that anything short of that is a failure. Our QB is entering his fourth year as a starter, we have an All-America candidate at WR (maybe some time in the backfield too...), a back in Guild who could be primed for a huge year, solid O-Line and of course McBeast leading what should be an improved D.
A reality check, however, reveals that Colgate, Fordham and Lehigh are also going to be VERY GOOD. These squads all return a ton of weapons from teams that beat us last year. This is going to be an extremely exciting Patriot League season where we're going to gain some incremental respect in FCS. I could see the league earning multiple bids next year, possibly with a third team on the bubble.

I agree as well. We have to remember that this is the first year that all PL teams (except for Fordham) will have a full roster of scholarship players. All are returning approximately 15 starters (out of 22) from last year so all teams will have experienced front-line players at most positions.
It's also worth remembering that HC started out somewhat behind the other scholarship teams, and had less than 15 scholarships for the first year. It was only after Nate Pine came on board that HC football got authorization to go to the full 60 scholarships permitted by the PL. Fortunately, HC was able to get some solid players in its initial recruiting class, although at 16 players it was a smaller class than most of the other teams.
I also expect the HC defense to be significantly improved this year, assuming HC can avoid the rash of injuries it suffered on the defensive side last year. The defensive line should be stronger than ever, with two 5th-year players and several other returning players with substantial playing experience. The LBs should be solid, led by McBeath and Young. In the backfield, there is good experience and depth returning. During the PL part of the season last year, four defensive starters were out with injuries, and it had a significant adverse effect.

Perhaps breezy. From the boards all expect a better D. The team tthat can actually have one and avoid injuries will win. On paper,Pards could have an excellent D. Question for them is whether they can score. Gonna be a fun year.
