Congratulations to Keith Simmons -- inducted into the Holy Cross Varsity Club Hall of Fame last night. Keith posted this on Instagram (and we can forgive a couple of typos). https://www.instagram.com/p/BTy07gGl8mZ

I am not sure "Tommy Heineken" was a typo. Perhaps that was what they were drinking as part of the celebration?

Tommy Heineken was likely an example of the tyranny of the "auto correct" feature of Keith's device

Congrats to Keith! And as great as his numbers were, that mysterious cramping problem he had his junior year probably robbed him of even more.

Tommy Heineken was likely an example of the tyranny of the "auto correct" feature of Keith's device One of my favorite "auto-correct" bloopers involved Hillhold Historic Site in NY. The autocorrect kept changing the name to "Hell Hole."

My favorite KS in-game moment: watching him play at Brown as a sophomore. Scored 30 points on 6-6 from 3 (I think that was his career high). Amidst a scoring run where he scored about 14 of the team's 16 points, there was one D possession where he was slow on a rotation and a Brown player made a three. Always trying to humble his players while demanding excellence on both ends of the floor, Ralph gave Keith an earful as he made his way back on O. On the next offensive set Keith peels off a high screen and knocks down another three. Ralph turns away from the court so Keith doesn't see him (but all of us sitting behind the bench could) and puts this look on his face as if to say, "Holy $#!+ this kid is unconscious tonight." Ralph knew he had a player that night.
My favorite KS stat: as a sophomore, he was first-team all-PL without starting a single game for HC the entire year.
He was an incredible player and an incredible person, just the absolute finest representative of Holy Cross athletics you could imagine -- the gold standard in my eyes. May we find more "Keith Simmons" in the years ahead to progress this program forward.

Went to every game vs. Brown at their place and trying to recall if this was also the game after which Brown issued their "wanted poster" for NAD. I don't think so, as I am pretty sure the game you reference was an HC blow-out thanks to Keith and the "NAD game" was still a win but a lot closer score.

My favorite HC bball player. Congrats. Mine also. Played hard every minute he was on the floor. If the officials could see defenses grabbing his jersey every time he came off a staggered screen, he'd have scored another 200 points. Must have seen it a hundred times from my seats in Section 5.

I remember it well; I was sitting opposite the HC bench, watching bomb after bomb by Keith tickle the twines. The COEDS vs US night was during SK's year. On this night, though, I had my first encounter with Brown fans. There were some older gents who were quite vocal with their annoyance with the officiating; apparently the visiting fans were not allowed to have the same freedom to express their opinions (based on the lecture I received from a few of them). Keith..........I thought coming into college, he was supposed to be a slashing, get to the rim kind of player. He really struggled with that in the early going, but man, he was spot on as a jump shooter from the get go. With experience, the rest of the offensive game came around (at least thats how I remember it). One of my favorite pictures of all time featured Keith in the aftermath of the PL championship game in 2007. He was standing by himself in the middle of a huge swarm of students..........with just an incredible joyful expression on his face. Wish I had a copy of it.
