We're all hoping that the 2017-18 squad has a future Hall of Famer on it, but as we start the summer lull, who do people think should/will be the next hoops HoF'er. - even a superstud on next year's squad is likely ten plus years from induction and there almost has to be some hoopster in that time frame
Lots of good options on there and still I have to admit, going into last year, there is no way I would have guessed Bob Foley, so we'll all probably be wrong. Anyhow, just to get things rolling. . . HC has had five PL Player of the Year winners. Four of them (Feaster, Szatko, Hamilton, and Simmons) are in. I'm thinking Pat Whearty currently the odd man out has got to be on the short list for next man in.
Thoughts? Have at it

A long time overdue are Gene Doyle and Jim Schnurr. If you check out their stats, they should be in well ahead of many already there. Gene had some personal issues, but I believe that they should not be a hindrance. Jim has been a loyal Crusader who is undergoing some health issues. His induction, especially, is long overdue. On a connected issue, will we ever see the Hart rafters added to ? Certainly there are many worthy candidates: Potter, Siudut (RIP) )etc. After all, there are many more Football Ring of Honor members than hoops players' jerseys in the rafters, and still being added onto

Gotta believe that Torey Thomas can't be too far behind his team mate and room mate.

Gotta believe that Torey Thomas can't be too far behind his team mate and room mate. Torey is certainly deserving, but I believe that Jave should go in before TT.

On a connected issue, will we ever see the Hart rafters added to ? Certainly there are many worthy candidates: Potter, Siudut (RIP) )etc. After all, there are many more Football Ring of Honor members than hoops players' jerseys in the rafters, and still being added onto Fair point. If I recall correctly, the force behind the jerseys in the rafters was Coach Willard (or his staff). Carmody/Pine probably don't have the same sense of the history of the program that alums Willard/Reagan had. I don't see these guys pushing it. Potter, Siduit et al are just names in the record book to the current regime. If they decide to put more up, it might be more of a marketing thing than a sincere tribute When you have a Hall of Fame, it's hard to have that second line of the best of the best of the best. Sure there could be - probably should be -more basketball jerseys honored, but I'm not in love with the football model where they're going to put up so many every year. At some point it cheapens the honor. It's a fuzzy, subjective line to draw. Heck, I appreciate all of the many Celtic numbers retired, but I think the Yankees way over do it.

Pine said the hoops line is drawn at 1st team all-american only. in that case, there will never be another jersey in the Hart rafters. Togo thinks that Potter's jersey belongs there.
