The more I think about it, it seems like a win win for both parties. We still have a 2016 scholly open in case of a last minute opportunity for a 6-8 kid; if it works out, then maybe we won't even need to take another point in 2017. From Will's perspective, he'll be getting an audition for a D1 scholly - if it turns out he doesn't pass, he could 1) stay at HC as a walkon; 2) stay as a student only; 3) transfer down to D2, get a scholly and play immediately; 4) maybe transfer to a NECSAC school, play immediately and still get a great education.
I like it.
