Medical redshirting is a curious business. What if Marcellis has a less than successful recovery and only projects as a deep bench performer? Coach would probably not want him back for a fifth year.

Marcellis may not want a fifth year Agreed. MP is a good student, who's immersed himself in service on and off campus - lead mentor for the Odyssey program, Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Working for Worcester, et al. He's taking full advantage of the Holy Cross experience, forging a nice resume, and will likely be ready to begin making his mark in the real world after his senior year.

As of now, he is not a highly desirable potential transfer

True, but he does have two full seasons to change that.

Perhaps MP will follow RJ's strategy (targeting a different grad dchool$ which worked out well for him..,,,

To make that work, he needs to have 2 good seasons for HC and I am OK with that.

Yes... Perhaps as a walk on, rather than playing pick up bball as grad studs do

He would not get a scholarship as a walk on, obviously Grad schools are expensive. Little reason for doing this.

My thought would be MP might have an opportunity if (A) he has a couple of good years for HC, as RGS notes and (B) he can find a college with a grad school where the basketball team would be happy to have him play a role for just one year. Maybe that's a long shot but no harm in speculating

He could certainly add to almost any team's GPA (as RJ did at UConn).

While a little speculation is OK, we now have 1 post about the roster and 15 about Marcellis redshirting/transferring.
How about we focus on Marcellis playing for Holy Cross THIS year before we worry too much about what he MIGHT do 2 years from now?

I don't see the harm in having the conversation about what Marcellis' future may hold in this thread.

I always enjoy receiving a good lecture on proper CROSSPORTS decorum. How about we "chill out, Francis"? Perhaps if folks had anything to say directly on the topic they would actually post to here. Too extreme?

no numbers yet for frosh VC claims that all six have enrolled If they are listed on the HC roster, wouldn't that mean they have now officially enrolled?

I hadn't looked at the roster in a while so while it's not news to most of you, it jumped out off the page at me that there are zero seniors on the team (I know, I know, late to the party). Plenty of opportunities for players to step into leadership roles. I'm hopeful we're about to embark on a very exciting period in HC basketball with this crew.

I agree and I hope to see a real development for HC hoops in Belfast! Time to step UP.

I expect based on hchoops review and my own observation that Matt Faw will be our best frosh big and from hc70 reports that kyle copeland will make an immediate impact. Hopefully the belfast games will be televised.
