Maybe 2008-09 RW's last season St. Joe's, Loyola-Chi, San Francisco, Western Michigan, Ohio, UMass, Central Fla. diverse in region, but no particularly strong teams i do not recall how strong St. Joe's was that season, or any of the others for that matter just guessing

The OOC schedule should be better, why can't we play URI in Worcester this year?

I like the game by game individual stats [pts/rb's/a's]; is it new?; should have bolded the wins, instead of the home games

I like the schedule. Good MAAC, AE, A10, and NEC teams and Harvard, sounds about right for us

It has been a popular away game for CT/NY/NJ fans over the past several years and this year we add FDU, and will have Iona away next year

Weakest OOC schedule since . . . ? Probably timed to coincide with just 1 starter back.

I interpreted JRG's comment to mean we have a much less experienced (potentially a lot weaker) team than last year. Get these road games out of the way and have the home game next year with a more experienced/stronger team with a greater likelihood of a home win in front of more HC fans. An alternative theory is Carmody is just a much worse negotiator than Milan Brown was . . . . . and they're off!!!

Probably timed to coincide with just 1 starter back. Starter Husek played 19 mpg off the bench Benzan played 29 mpg I get that. I'm simply looking at numbers. 4 of the top 6 scorers from last year gone and they take with them EDIT: 39.5 of the team's 60.4 ppg last season. I'm not doubting specific players and realize there are plenty of opportunities for players to step up and into roles. My point is it's entirely possible the OOC schedule was formulated with the idea in mind that they're going to have to break in some new starting lineups and get players acclimated to roles, so they went a little softer on that part of the schedule this year.

On the surface it looks kind of weak, but aside from FDU, SHU, and Manhattan last year's Pomeroy rankings of the other opponents are not bad:
Albany - 129 Harvard - 112 Iona - 117 UNH - 182
That's a pretty solid home OOC slate.
La Salle - 140 Manhattan - 287 Towson - 116
And Manhattan should be much better in 2017-18.
FDU - 267 UMass - 157 URI - 34 SHU - 301 Siena - 170
FDU and SHU add little to nothing to the schedule.
We don't have that big-time name team on the schedule, but this OOC is definitely better than Carmody's first season, and probably will be better than 2012-13 OOC.

I doubt that Fordham, St. John's or Seton Hall want to face HC, esp with the Princeton offense, a special prep. St. Peter's or Hofstra, maybe. I believe that since we are playing Iona their next season, we wanted.a Metro NY game this year. I do not count Sacred Heart.

With our personnel I really don't think anyone above us worries that much about the Princeton offense. Regretably, I suspect playing HC isn't the attraction it once was. I pray I live long enough when playing @njit and @fdu are buried in the archives under the heading Dark Ages.

Maybe, but better than no game in the metro area, as in the last few seasons.

We will never have a large fan base if we continue to have this type of OOC schedule. The basketball fan wants to see top teams and not schools like FDU, New Hampshire & Sacred Heart.

We cut USC and cuse. Tough to replace them. If we leave out $$$ games this is basically the schedule we will have without some creative minds in the AD. For Karl it came down to HC and FDU so let's not be too snooty. IMHO $$$ games should be used in dire financial situations.

Maybe, but better than no game in the metro area, as in the last few seasons. I understand the desire by Carmody/Pine to water down this year's OOC sked due to the team being perceived as weak. They get a 1 year pass on that. But the timing unfortunately stinks. Alums in metro NYC may not yet have forgotten the debacle in Yankee Stadium just a few months ago and a follow-up to that with a hoops game at Fairleigh Dickinson isn't a great idea to regenerate general enthusiasm for HC's marquee sports. And IMO, a date like this does zilch for recruiting the type of kids we need in New Jersey.
The @njit game attendance was a whopping 882 or such....yuk.
