Would you rather another beatdown by St. John's or Seton Hall, similar to the Fordham football game ?

Would you rather another beatdown by St. John's or Seton Hall, similar to the Fordham football game ? I'd prefer to have the program in a position where we are not catching a beatdown from a St. John's team that is 22-43 in the last two seasons and finished last year ranked #99 by KenPom. But if it came down to it, that would be preferable to playing FDU. Everyone who I talked to had a great experience at the Yankee Stadium game, and 95% of them wouldn't have shown up if the game was against a Wagner, for example, and couldn't have cared less if we beat them by 30.

Someone has to hold the contrarian view, so it might as well be me.
I would have happily given up the "excitement" of playing at Yankee Stadium to have beaten Fordham, even by a point, at Fitton Field or at Fordham or Randalls Island or . . . . . you get the idea. For me, the game itself is what counts, not so much the venue. The Fordham game was a stinker and playing in front of a large Yankee Stadium crowd made it all the more embarrassing.

Unless HC gave up a legitimate chance to win vs Fordham (by playing them somewhere else) I have no problem with it. And I doubt that they did that...Edmonds would have run through that crappy defense anywhere.

The FDU game was probably scheduled, in part, because of former HC ass't Greg Herenda, FDU's head coach. Probably better to have this OOC game in the NY area rather than none at all but, obviously, not the most attractive selection. Maybe FDU is one of the few willing to play us home and home with an HC home game next year.

A guarantee game at UCLA, Gonzaga, or Miami would generate more interest from alums in the NY area than a game at FDU.

FDU is a program on the rise. I like having a game nearby, but this could be a huge win for FDU. They are in a position similar to that of NJIT a few seasons back when they pulled off some big upsets.
