My speculative expectation of the HC starting offensive line for the UConn game. No 2-deep is available and I stress that this is speculative.
JAMES MURRAY (5th yr. SR): 6-5, 297 NICK PIKER (5th yr SR): 6-5, 305 CHARLES STEELE (SR): 6-8, 316 BRETT BODDY (JR): 6-3, 309 RORY COSTELLO (JR): 6-4, 297
My speculative expectation of the HC starting defensive line for the UConn game.
TEDDY CAPSIS (JR): 6-3, 261 JACK KUTSCHKE (SR): 6-5, 280 JAKE McARDELL (JR): 6-2, 289 PHIL ZOBREST (SR): 6-5, 273
Not a big difference as to size and weight. No information on which to judge athleticism, quickness, strength, etc.

Breezy, best guesses at which freshmen and/or sophomores will be on the two-deep?

I'm reluctant to respond because I do not want to be seen as slighting any player on the roster and I really have a very limited information base to justify my speculation / guesses regarding freshmen / sophomores on the 2-deep. However, since you asked, these are the underclassmen that I think have the potential to be listed when the 2-deep is published (and it is most likely that some will and some won't).
Sophomores: DB Chris Riley; DB Alex Johnson, DL Mark Ebo, OL Joe Mattingly, OL Max Daurelle, RB Domenic Cozier, RB Miles Alexander, WR Jon Jon Roberts.
Freshmen: QB Connor Degenhardt, WR Tenio Ayeni, TE Josh Fletcher, LB Kendrick Knight, LB Benton Whitley, DB Joe Lang.
As I have indicated, these guesses could be very much off. And I should explain that it is extremely difficult for freshmen linemen -- offensive and defensive -- to get on the 2-deep, especially this early in the season, and I have high hopes that a number of them will be major contributors relatively soon.

Got tickets in the HC allotment. I think today is the last day if you want them mailed (mail going out tomorrow as previously mentioned). Also signed up for the OAR/CAF/HC Club of Hartford tailgate ($15 for food and non-alcoholic beverages). Will save me the trouble of actually planning something myself and hopefully will get to see some familiar faces.
Info on tailgate in case anyone missed it:

Got my tickets in today's mail for the UConn game. In section 137 . . . . on one of the goal lines, a far cry from my 50 yard line tickets at Fitton. Here's the UConn seating link when/if you get your tickets and want to see where you sit "officially." I suspect I might be able to amble over to midfield and sit during the game. www.rentschlerfield.com/seating

About Rentschler Stadium. Echoes what I've said about Fitton's potential:
"the stadium serves as the home field of UConn football and has hosted a wide variety of other athletic, cultural and civic events, including international soccer, rugby, lacrosse and major concerts, including The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and The Police."

Yep. Except built in 2003 not 1926 so the ADA issue and width of the field are a tad different. If you would like to volunteer to come forward with the tens of millions of dollars it would take to upgrade Fitton to be usable for these events I'm sure the school would love to hear from you.

Not to mention Rentcheler has 20,000 more seats, parking for the vehicles bringing those 20,000 extra fannies to the seats, no comparable venues in the immediate area (within an hour), infrastructure to support the performance needs of the show ...
And then there's the competition for performers. 3 miles away the DCU Center seats 15,000 for concerts and 45 - 50 minutes away the Xfinity Center seats 20,000. Both in the Fitton area for capacity.
So, you'd have to add all of those things above and more to make Fitton a facility that headline performers would agree to perform in before you even add the lights for the field. So when your imagination meets reality, it's a lot more than a million for lights and then hosting concerts. And that's before any ADA upgrades.
And what result does that investment bring to advance College's main purpose? An undetermined number of people in the area are more "aware" of the College because they went to a concert or a night football game there? Not sure that's enough bang for the buck to actually advance the purpose & mission of the college.
At some point, the stadium will be upgraded and lights will be added, but right now other projects that benefit the student-athletes more directly and on a day-to-day basis took priority.

Even if the only result of permanent lights is one evening fball game per season it would be worth it IMHO. The alleged $multi-million cost for lights (driven by ADA requirements) is a PERFECT example of the insanity of over regulation. Where is Edw. Hannify when we need him.

The use of "alleged" leads me to believe that you question whether the cost would actually be multi-millions of $$. Do you believe that "TPTB" are not be truthful?

With the game only 10 days away has anyone seen the two deep at this point? Related to what Breezy indicated above was hoping to get some visibility into where things stand with a few positions (backup QB, WR, DL)

No 2-deep yet. Usually released as part of Game Notes on the Monday prior to game -- not sure if same schedule holds when game is on a Thursday.

So, here is what I posted on the prior page when speculating on returning lines for UConn based on the last game of last season:

How many red shirt players do we have?

I believe 5 and all are medical redshirts, unlike UConn's. But I defer to breezy for exact numbers.

It looks like two UConn returning starters at LB went down with injuries. EJ Levenberry tore his acl during spring practice and Vontae Diggs is out a few weeks. Levenberry is a red shirt senior. Hopefully, he'll get another year.

A game with UConn is nostalgic and its proximity to Worcester is convenient. It however does not excite me that much. The Huskies are barely a FBS team. Maine nearly beat them last year. Would like a real FBS P5 team on the schedule that pays far more than UConn. Holy Cross can do better.
