No marquee foes, except perhaps BC.
The whole OOC schedule can be done by bus.

Such lack of interest in the schedule!
All right, I'll be provocative. Is this the sort of schedule for a coach operating under a 'win or else' edict, or a schedule for a coach to retire at season's end with a winning season, or a schedule reflecting ADNP economizing on the cost of certain sports?

The schedule is not particularly different than what they've played the last three or four years other than no tournament

Happy to see they're coming to Poughkeepsie. Great following for the Marist women here so should be an exciting game, BG vs BG, good test for Gibbons

The schedule is not particularly different than what they've played the last three or four years other than no tournament A quote from a former player regarding her school's (Norwood High School) interest in switching leagues. "Girls basketball head coach Amy Lepley also spoke on behalf of Longley and the administration in pursuing a move. Lepley, who played basketball collegiality at Holy Cross, recalled the competitive balance within her league. “Some of my fondest memories are playing in the Patriot League,” she said. “We could compete with them. My fondest memory was not playing UConn and losing by 80 points.”"

That would seem to make a lot of sense but the ladies did not always lose by 80 points and some of the games were competitive for at least a half.

They were certainly "competitive" until the mid-00's. I would guess that's why they haven't played in 5 or 6 yrs.

They were never "competitive." "Competitive" means you have a chance to WIN, not just keep it close.

Actually, they did have a chance to win in 06, not so much after that.

Actually, they did have a chance to win in 06, not so much after that. Did anyone at any point in 2006 really think they had a chance to win, as opposed to just keeping it respectable? Yes, they only trailed by about six at the half, but UConn stepped on the gas at the start of the second half and immediately pulled away. Final margin was a respectable 20 iirc.

I don't remember what year it was but I used to follow the HC ladies BB team and had season tickets. One year, believe they were playing UConn at the DCU, the Crusaders were winning almost the entire 1st half. Geno looked like he was on his way to a coronary. UConn slowly came back and got a slight lead (was it 6? I don't recall). As Bison said, UConn came out from the lockers and pulled away handily in the 2nd half. However, I was not 30 feet from Geno and he was very upset and assume his players heard him loud and clear at halftime as they came out a totally different team. Yes. it was a "competitive" game for one half and had UConn played the same way in the second, there may well have been a huge upset.
That said, if the loss was by 20, and probably was, against UConn, that really was "respectable" considering a lot of highly ranked teams lost by a lot more than that. Of course in those days, UConn was usually #1 and the #2 team would probably be a 10-15 point underdog.
Glad we don't play them.
