The season kicks off in just under 36 hours, so let's get this thing started.
I think we can keep this close for a good chunk of the game. UConn is not a good football team. In fact, in the Sagarin ratings, there are a host of FCS teams that are ranked above them.
UConn 34 Holy Cross 23
As for a roll call, any posters make the trip?

First hope is to come out of this ultimately meaningless game without major injuries. Second is that we keep it respectable and keep morale high going into games that actually matter from a championship and PL-pride standpoint.
My guess is that we'll lose and that we'll keep within two scores in the first half before adjustments on both sides are made/not made and then gradually wear out. In the end we'll be looking for positives (and hopefully finding many) and saying the game was actually closer than the final score, or something to that tune. I don't think this UConn team should be able to blow us out over four quarters in week 1.
After so many heartbreaking seasons and for longterm mental health/cardiac reasons my expectations for this season need to be low, but my hopes, as always, are high.

I will go with Holy Cross 31 UConn 28 I did, after all, pick HC to win this one. One can always dream.
I will not be at the game. It is our 49th wedding anniversary. My wife will be in Belfast, but did not want to celebrate our anniversary with a trip to Connecticut. She did, however, agree to a 6:00pm reservation for dinner, so we will get to see most of the game via streaming.

Boy, is that specific!
As much as I would like the Crusaders to win like RGS, I think that would be too high of an expectation despite UConn not being a good team at their level. Problem is, we have not yet established that we are a good team at the lower level. If this game was being played 2-3 years from now, I would actually expect a win over UConn. But, I don't think we are there yet despite Pujals.
I won't get into quarter predictions but I am thinking a 28-17 UConn win pretty much following NHT's trendline. For any chance of a win, we have to be fast out of the starting blocks with our experienced QB and their inexperienced one. Hopefully, we can generate turnovers and convert points off of them. If we are down big by halftime, it will get ugly. They will make halftime adjustments and wish we were able to do that better but historically we seem to just keep doing what we do even if we are not getting good results.
And, yes, I will be there as previously posted. Hope to see some of you at the pre-game tailgate.

UCONN 31 HC 14
Edit: That said, we will be within 7 during the third quarter. Just close enough for 92's boys to keep the faith.

Can't see HC winning this one, especially after not showing up at Yankee Stadium ! We have a long way to go , and not sure if T Gilmore is the answer !

Heart: HC 24 UConn 17
Head: UConn 38 HC 17
I will be there at the HC tailgate and at the game rooting hard for my heart to be right. The boys will be bringing the noise so that should help.

I hate to say it but I think UConn is going to score a lot of points. A lot of missed tackles and db's getting burned. Same old story. UConn wins 50-20.

Curious, anyone know what the team itinerary is for the game tomorrow? I know it's a relatively short jaunt to E. Hartford but are we possibly going down tonight and doing a walk through at the Rent today and staying over tonight somewhere down there?
I know it's kind of tricky with a Thursday night game.
