Pretty much what's being said on the Fordham board right now : 51-6 now "Breiner was Moorhead's caddy. This is a joke." or "We are completely unprepared for this game. Breiner is a fraud." or "This is more a bad coaching issue than player talent, we arent this bad.....the coach has no idea what he is doing.................the players have talent. .....if we lose a game by 50 points and the other team doesnt throw one pass, it will be beyond a humiliation....your center cant snap th e ball so freaking abandon the shotgun is it that hard to explain? you have the best running back in country....give him the flipping ball!" Comes with the territory......

No way to blame the staff on this loss.

From watching the game on TV it seemed the spark that awakened the UCONN offense was the benching of the starting QB. The sub, I think he was last year's starter, quickly led the team to three TDs. Perhaps the HC defense was tiring, As much as Edsell might be slammed for starting the transfer QB, I assume the Husky faithful give him some credit for the decisive adjustment.

From what I saw of the Fordham-Army game, the Rams were totally outclassed. The Army defense totally shut down Fordham and rendered their great RB useless. The most glaring strength for Army's defense was that their backs make dead-sure tackles. On offense, their option plays were run to perfection. Fordham couldn't tell if QB would keep, hand off or lateral. Army didn't need to pass. Believe they said that this was the 17th time that Army had rushed for 500+ yards. Not total yards, rushing yards. Wow! Has to be a humiliating loss for the proud Rams team.

Army wins 64-6 over Fordham. Army looks very good this year (Fordham, with a similar team, beat Army two years ago).

Great video. What's the song? Really could have won with another break or two.
It's cool that our first FBS win will be over BC though. 😃

The team played outstanding football! Great game!
Obviously, UConn is the best team they'll face all year. Anyone who thinks UConn is no better than a decent fcs team knows very little about college football.
At the game I thought the officials were as atrocious as many of the other posters here. I watched the game again on the espn3 app and now think it may even be worse than that. I think they may have unintentional intentionally made some blunder calls (because hey it's the first game and mistakes are going to be made by everyone) in order to prevent the AAC from being embarrassed by a fcs loss. I hope that's not the case and the officials were simply run of the mill crappy officials.
The multiple missed facemasks and holds on UConn, the horse collar on PP in the 1st qtr that apparently everyone saw but the officials. The bogus offsides on the kickoff, the phantom run into the kicker and worst of all, the egregious spot at the end of the game sealing the victory. They were cheated on that spot. After all their hard work, preparation and playing their asses off, to have it end that way is bull$h!t!

Does anyone know the answer as to the review of the spot?

Good question 92, not entirely sure what the review process is on spotting forward progress...I've always felt that this was one of the more capricious judgements when officiating football (at any level).
Nova 21 LU 7 2nd Q btw

Deep Purple hit on the head about the officials. I sat with 2 officials who pointed out numerous errors by the officiating crew. That was as poor of a display by any officiating crew that I have viewed for over 45 years.....I hope the NCAA or ECAC can honestly review their performance and place them elsewhere. The players and coaches for Holy Cross had to play FBS UConn, but also try to overcome the obvious slanted officiating witnessed on Thursday evening. The spot with 3 minutes left was as poor as you will ever see and he also called the 2 linemen downfield penalties in the 1st half, which were totally wrong taking away good gaining plays by the HC offense. He took his flag out so late on both occasions. Holding could have been called on the UConn db's on every play, but the officials allowed it to occur. Heck, their receivers would push off on our db's w/o any call - Gilmore pointed out this on 3 occasions in front of him. Roughing the punter should have been an unsportsmanlike penalty on the UConn punter. A complete fabrication.....an obvious pass interference tripping our wide receiver who was breaking free and it would have been a touchdown - directly in front of the back judge and our seating location in the 4th quarter, we then turned the ball over on downs 2 plays later. I was extremely pleased with the Holy Cross showing on all accounts and the defense really took it to them a number of times. We are a good football team which will enjoy a number of victories this Fall. We will have to wait until next year to win our 1st FBS victory since Army, could not happen to a better opponent "BC".

Anyone know if/how there is a link to replay video of the game? I don't get SNY and can't tape ESPN streaming, at least I don't know how. Would love to see all those plays and bad calls that you miss when you are at the game live.

Agree with Coach Gilmore that while no such thing as a moral victory, there indeed were some good things demonstrated in the game, including time of possession, total yards, first downs, stopped both UConn 4th down conversion and a pretty good job stopping 3rd down conversions. Peter did not throw an interception and while not perfect, had a very solid game. Not so good was our rushing still looks anemic when we need to grind it out on the ground though Walker's TD run up the middle was outstanding.

Just watched the game replay. The "spot" was egregious! It appeared the official who spotted it had an extremely bad angle and the ball looked to be caught a full yard short and then driven back 3+ yards. As the announcers said, Randy never would have gone on it on 4th down and would have punted. And when these "homers" say it was a "generous spot" for UConn, you can be sure it was. While we can't say that cost us the game, we certainly would have gotten the ball back with plenty enough time and decent field position to be able to score the tying TD. Ugh! P.S. Here is a screen shot of the play.

Howard beats UNLV. Go HC! Beat BC! Howard over UNLV was an upset for the ages. 45 point dogs -- greatest upset in modern history as far as betting lines are concerned. This was a team that was down 62-0 to BC at HALFTIME last year.

From my vantage point watching the game, I didn't even think for a second that would even be close enough to merit so much as a measurement. I immediately started high fiving people assuming we were getting the ball back. Very tough break, between that and the Bell fumble, we'll just have to imagine what could have been. On to the next - Bucknell looks like they will be a formidable challenger next week.
