The women preceded the men on the court with a good workout. I was impressed with a lot of the players, but it was difficult for me to identify them without a program and shirts without numbers. Looked like a lot of talent out there, and some good shooters...promising

A "no-name" team with a strong team bond is not necessarily a bad thing. "By their deeds shall they be known."

Gibbons' recent teams have led the league in community service, but have been far down the standings when it comes to w's and l's. I also watched bit of the workout and it's impossible to say how good they look when they are scrimmaging against themselves, a 9 win team from 16-17.
So they might be fantastic or something less this year.
I can say that Swords who is the 6-3 soph center who blew out her knee late in the season did not look anywhere near 100 pct. Manis looked to be in great shape and seems leaner than last year which leads me to believe they will try her at the 4 position as she definitely has those skills. Who the center will be is anyone's guess, and Manis is there in case no one emerges.
